The Menil Collection The museum houses the private art collection of its founders John and Dominique de Menil that includes approximately 17,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, and rare books. The collection contains works by Max Ernst, Man Ray, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, and more. Award-winning Italian architect Renzo Piano designed the building, his first in the U.S.
