HYBRID RYE
TOP PERFORMERS
Dakota’s Best seed partners with KWS for farmers’ success. We focus on consulting and supporting our customers in production and livestock feeding. Hybrid rye is a high energy, nutrient dense feedstuff that provides high quality soluble fiber critical to animal health and performance!
KWS Progas
Hybrid Rye for Forage & Grazing
#1 for Silage. Best for early head cutting.
• High tonnage, quality and digestibility.
• Very good standability and disease resistance package.
• Needs early establishment in autumn (best in September). Early establishment will secure the hybrid vigor effect which means more tillers and higher biomass yield.
• Very vigorous root and top growth and due to its allopathy, it is a very strong seed suppressor which makes it perfect for grazing. Preliminary trials suggest moderate, early fall grazing does not impact yields.
• We recommend early cutting for dairies. This way the grower can get the corn seeded as early as possible. It heads early and produces good biomass yield with good quality – high protein and good digestibility.
