PIPAVAV: APM Terminals

Pipavav, one of the leading gateway ports located in western India, will set up a new liquidberthatthePortataninvestmentofaroundUS$90 million. Currently, the port has the capacity to handle 2 MMT of liquid bulk. With the new berth, the liquid bulk handling capacity of the port will increase to 5.2 MMT. Thecapexannouncedisinlinewiththeport’sobjectiveof contributing to the growth of India's logistics infrastructure, bolstering connectivity to the northwest hinterlands,andbetterservethecustomersbyproviding end-to-endsolutions.Thesettingupofthenewberthwill besubjecttonecessaryregulatoryandotherapprovals.

The Port’s LPG handling capacity expansion comes at a time when the country’s households are moving to LPG following the success of PM’s flagship program ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). The LPG consumer base has increased substantially overthepastfewyears.APMTerminalsPipavavisoneof the few ports in India that has LPG rail siding within the port that can accommodate full train carrying approx. 1200MTofLPGcargo.

M. Angamuthu appointed as Chairperson of Visakhapatnam Port

NEW DELHI: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) for the appointment of Mr M. Angamuthu, IAS, as Chairperson of Visakhapatnam PortAuthority,undertheMinistry. His would be a combined tenure of seven years up to October 13, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, informed an official communique.

S. Viswanathan, IAS appointed as Dy. Chairperson of Chennai Port Authority

CHENNAI: Shri. S. Viswanathan, IAS has assumed charge from 24.04.2023 as Deputy ChairpersonofChennaiPort Authority, under Ministry of Ports, ShippingandWaterways.

Shri.S.Viswanathan, IAS holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master Degree in Business

Administration. He is an IAS officer of 2008 batch under Madhya Pradesh Cadre. He has previously served as Managing Director, MP Tourism Development and had held additional charge as Additional Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Medical Education Department and CVO- Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Bhopal.
