FFFAI Chairman Shankar Shinde elected as Chairman IFCBA

Mr Shankar Shinde has beenunanimouslyelected as Chairman of the In te rn at io na l Federation of Customs Brokers Associations (IFCBA) during its Board of Directors' Annual General MeetingheldonFebruary8,2023.

Mr Shinde is currently Chairman of the Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI) and earlier was holding the post of Managing Director of IFCBA.
FFFAI as an Apex body of Customs Brokers in India playsa pivotal role in customsclearance on cross border, recommending best practices in International Export Importtrade.
Other Members elected to the Board of Directors of IFCBA are Secretary General- Ms Carol West fromCanadaandsixManagingDirectors:Mr.CliveCoke from Jamaica, Ms Angela Collin from Canada, Mr Paul Damkjaer fromAustralia,MrBaiFengchuan from China, Mr Seisaku Okafuji from Japan and Ms Kristiann App from the United States of America.
It is pertinent to mention that IFCBA chairs the Private Sector Consultative Group (PSCG) on World Customs Organisation (WCO).
Commenting on his focus area as FIATA Chairman, Mr Shinde said that with the WCO theme "Nurturing the next generation: promoting a culture of knowledgesharing and professional pride in Customs", which was launchedonInternationalcustomsDay,IFCBAwouldbe happy to carry forward the implementation of this theme tobenefitandpromoteprofessionalisminthetrade.
Bahri Line launches new Liner service between Asia and Europe through Saudi Arabia
The new shipping route will connect Asia to Europe via Jeddah Islamic Port with a rotaon of the Far East, India and Saudi Arabia

Travelling through Jeddah Islamic Port, the new cargo shipping line comes as an extension of Bahri’s expansion plan to widen its liner network, strengthen supplychains,anddiversifyshippingoptionsto,fromand throughJeddahIslamicPort.
The new service line runs eastward from Bremerhaven to Antwerp and Montoir in Europe through to Jeddah, then to Ennore in India, and onwards to the Port of Taicang port in China. The service line’s westbound route runs from Taicang and Shanghai in China through to Ennore and Jeddah, onwards to Montoir-de-Bretagne, located in the west of France, furtherextendingtobothBremerhavenandAntwerp.
Bahri Line’s establishment of Jeddah Islamic Port’s newest shipping line is a proactive measure to increase and enhance local logistical capabilities, directly linking Asia and Europe via Jeddah The new shipping line’s maiden journey embarked this year with the first vessel expected to reach Jeddah Islamic port in early February2023.
