Australia Paddy Rice Production Forecast to Decline 29% to 907,000 Tons in MY 2013-14 Apr 08, 2014
The USDA Post says that Australia’s paddy rice production is likely to decline to around 907,000 tons (653,000 tons, basis milled) in MY 2013-14 (March 2014 – February 2015), down about 22% from around 1.17 million tons produced in the previous year mainly due to lower yields.The Post says that average rice yield in Australia stood at above average levels of around 10.23 tons per hectare in MY 2012-13, but it is likely to return to average yields of 8.98 tons per hectare in MY 2013-14.
