Introduction to Scene Lighting

Lighting is an essential component in today’s modern living environments. Different lighting effects can influence people’s moods, change the theme of any given space, and change the perceived value of a product. As such having an easy to use and yet effective lighting control system is an absolute must in achieving these outcomes. With DAE’s lighting control system, the lighting scenes needed by any kind of space can be easily managed. Whether it be for the living room, dining room, yard and other living spaces in the home; or for public and commercial venues such as restaurants, shops, ballrooms, auditoriums and so on, all of which can benefit from having a simple and practical lighting control system that can provide a rich array of scene and mood transformations.

Application Examples of Scene Lighting Control Change The Scene To Change The Style A scene lighting control system is designed to provide different types of spaces with a convenient way to operate the lights, curtains and other devices so that they can be changed in coordination quickly and easily. More importantly, they can alter the atmosphere and mood of the place to give it an aura of sophistication and elegance and thus increasing its perceived value.

Lighting Control for Conference Rooms In a conference room, pattern switches can be installed in multiple locations to make it convenient to be able to change the lighting scene to match the activity at the touch of a switch, for activities such as lectures, speeches, presentations, discussions and the like.

4

Lighting Control for Dining Places In a dining environment, the most elegant of which would be the banquet hall, the lighting should have some form of scene control so that the pattern of lights and their dimming effects can be quickly changed to bring about the right kind of ambience for the given event. For example, a wedding reception would need to have different lighting scenes at different stages of event, the right lighting scene is essentially to set the mood and make the occasion a night to remember.

Lighting Control for Gymnasiums A gymnasium can be used as a venue for all sorts of activities, from holding sporting events, conducting practice exercises, holding ceremonies and other types of special events. With such a plethora of uses, the most often used scenes should be preset in advance to allow the operator set the appropriate scene for the given event at the touch of a button.

5

Lighting Control for Conference Halls Conference halls, auditoriums and lectures halls have many uses such as for watching films, performances, lectures and so on. These large venues have a lot of lighting and curtain or dimming, The lighting control system required should not only be able to manage such a rich and complicated menagerie but it also requires a easy to use touch panel for user to select the scene .

Lighting Control for Living Rooms The living room is often the largest room in the entire home and serves as the venue for all types of family and guest related activities. Each activity needs the appropriate type of lighting scene to properly set the mood for the occasion. A living can be used for reading, relaxing, watching movies, entertaining guests, holding parties and so on, with such a large number of uses, having a simple and easy to use system to manage the lighting and set the mood should be part of any living room to simplify the controls and eliminate the conventional of having to manually set each at every light.

6

Lighting Control for Cafes

Other Applications

User control interfaces can be installed at the counter to manage the scene for different areas of the restaurant. Scene changes for lunch time, dinner time, entertainment, all need to have their own moods set to gain the proper ambience.

System Architecture Eliminates Central Controller Shortcomings Unlike other scene lighting control systems, DAE’s doesn’t require a central controller and eliminates the need for custom software in order to produce the scenes. DAE’s system has a smart auto-learning capability that is so easy that both the installer and end user can use. The central processor is also the Achille’s heel, because if it fails then the entire system collapse along with it. The system is more reliable without it.

Introduction to Control and Dimming Simple and Elegant Scene Changes Simplify operation by grouping lights into scenes. Lower costs by providing dimming for entire circuits.

Elegant Dimming ●

For a space that needs to maintain a aura of elegance, having lights that turn on and off abruptly is simply unacceptable as it is not only jarring to the eyes but also disrupts the feel of the space. Having nuanced brightness changes is thus an absolute must if one is to retain the softness and elegance of the space that the proprietor has worked so hard to attain.

A home should be cozy and comfortable, sudden brightness changes are undesirable as it is like an assault on the eyes and completely destroys the relaxed feeling of the home.

This gradual dimming effect can also be achieved even using regular rocker switches.

Single Switches ●

The gradual dimming effect can be achieved using regular mechanical switches in conjunction with either the K73 or the K80.

A regular mechanical knob can also be used with the LT4500 as a means for the user to manually adjust the dimming whilst retaining the same pleasing gradual fading effect.

The iHCU and iRCU Modules The iHCU and iRCU are specifically designed for hotel rooms and there are multiple models to choose from for every room type. The iRCU is the most basic model for rooms with only a small number of circuits, while the iHCU is the more advanced version with more sophisticated functions and larger number of circuits. If even this is not enough, then there is the RCX module that can be used to extend the number of circuits that the iRCU can support. For control interfaces, there is the optional touch panel HMI or one can choose to make use of touch tablets instead.
