In our routine effort to keep in touch with our readers, following the refurbishment of Bridge 6116 at Makuleke Village, within the Collins Chabane Local Municipality, Mmileng, the official quarterly magazine of Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL), recently visited the area to hear first-hand feedback from community members and road users who benefit from the repairs. Full story on page 30.
“I use this road daily to access various villages where I deliver sand. This bridge has been damaged for quite some time. I previously had an accident on this bridge because two cars could not drive through at the same time, causing my vehicle substantial damage. Now we are happy that the road has been fixed.”
“I remember last year how difficult it was when we couldn’t get to school for two to three days due to heavy rains. It is now extremely simple, we can safely travel with our cars, even the learners who travel by school bus can easily get to school.”

“Before this road [bridge] was repaired, it was nearly impossible for us pedestrians to walk freely due to fear of being involved in accidents. Now we are glad because the road is much safer as pedestrians have their own space to walk on. The bridge will facilitate community developments at Makuleke Village.”
“We were always late for our engagements before the bridge was fixed since only one car was allowed to pass at a time, resulting in several accidents and subsequent delays. Our bridge is now much safer and road traffic accidents are no longer a thing to worry about.”
