WELLNESS DAY STIRS EMPLOYEES TO LEAD HEALTHY-INFORMED LIVES
“A
healthy mind is the first step leading to a healthy body” was a resounding theme for the Roads Agency Limpopo’s (RAL) Wellness Day. The event sought to encourage employees to lead a healthy and financially sound life to enhance productivity in the organisation. Many speakers at the event, from financial and health experts, as well as a motivational speaker, gave the employees pointers on how to improve various aspects of their lives by being proactive and planning ahead for any unforeseen circumstances. A financial expert from Standard Bank, Mr Musa Mabunda, implored the employees to be diligent with their

approach to their finances because money plays a central and influential role in people’s livelihoods, which in turn can affect their confidence and self-esteem. He further noted, “People should manage their finances properly to achieve a positive outcome and to avoid starting projects they will fail to maintain financially, where they end up hiding behind the saying … “I will cross the bridge when I get there.” In encouraging staff members to live a healthy lifestyle, the personal trainer, Mr Radu Valjie, shared the consequences that affect people who do not exercise regularly.
