oads Agency Limpopo’s (RAL) efforts to strengthen regulations to empower local Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) during the upgrade of roads in communities, continue to receive appreciation for availing a plethora of opportunities to small businesses in the Limpopo Province. The recent construction of road D4166 at Ga-Riba village in the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality saw a significant rise in community participation. Most of the directors of 32 SMMEs sub-contracted to render various support services welcomed the SMME empowerment initiative, describing it as a great

networking opportunity. The road project which commenced in 2018 and involved the rehabilitation and upgrading of road D4166 from Riba Cross (R37) to Ga-Riba from gravel to bituminous surface (refer to the full story on page 30).
