Curator of the Bartlett Computational Plexus, Course Master of RC4 at the MArch AD and Unit Master of MArch Unit 19, both at The Bartlett School of Architecture. He is also co-founder of madMdesign and programme Director at the Architectural Association’s Visiting School in Madrid (AAVSM). Manuel has taught and run workshops at the AA Design Research Laboratory (DRL) (London), Polytechnic University of Architecture (Madrid), European University Madrid and L’École Spéciale d’Architecture (Paris). Manuel is a registered Architect at the ARB Architects Registration Board and has worked with leading firms across the world. His work has been featured widely in Acadia (San Francisco / Los Angeles), Royal Academy (London), and X Bienal Española de Arquitectura (Spain).

Sushant Verma Founding Partner of rat[LAB] - Research in Architecture & Technology, Delhi I London I LA

Sushant Verma is an architect & computational designer, currently leading research organization rat[LAB] - Research in Architecture & Technology. Former architect at Zaha Hadid Architects, London & a Sr. Editor at Arch2O, he holds teaching positions at a number of universities internationally & is involved in education for computational & parametric design. He is the founder of rat[LAB] EDUCATION, which is an initiative to spread the idea of computation in design profession & education in India. Recipient of MAK Schindler Award from Vienna / Los Angeles and a finalist for AIA Emerging Leaders Fellowship from Chicago, his work is widely published and exhibited in London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Taipei & New Delhi, among other places. He was recently shortlisted in New Delhi among 5 architects for ’20 under 35’ Exhibition at Alliance Francaise de Delhi.

He is the founder principal of Tom Wiscombe Architecture. His work stands out in terms of its synthesis of form, pattern, color, and technology into singular, irreducible constructions. Wiscombe is a senior faculty member at the Southern California Institute of Architecture and is a visiting professor at Yale University and PennDesign. Previously, Wiscombe was Chief Designer for BMW Welt, Munich, the Museum of Confluences, Lyon, and the UFA Cinema Center, Dresden, for Coop Himmelb(l)au.

Michael Hansmeyer is a post-modern architect who utilizes algorithmic architecture techniques, generative artmentalities, and CAD software to generate complex structures. He is currently based in the CAAD group at ETH’s architecture department in Zurich. He holds an MBA degree from INSEAD as well as a Master o f Architecture degree from Columbia University. He previously worked with McKinsey & Company, J.P. Morgan, and at Herzog & de Meuron architects.

Gre g Lyn n was a n i n novator i n redefining the medium of design with digital technology as well as pioneering the fabrication and manufacture of complex functional and ergonomic forms using CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machinery. His work is in the permanent collections of the most important design and architecture museums in the world including the CCA, SFMoMA, ICA Chicago and MoMA.

Sigrid Brell-Cokcan is the founder and director of the new Chair of Individualized Production at RWTH Aachen University and co-founded the Association for Robots in Architecture in 2010. IP focusses on the use of innovative machinery in material and building production. In order to create an environment that allows the efficient, individualized production of lot size one, new and user friendly methods for man machine interaction are developed. In 2003 she was the founding partner of II Architects int Istanbul/ Vienna.

Andy Lomas is a mathematician, digital artist and Emmy award winning supervisor of computer generated effects. He has had art work exhibited in over 40 joint and solo exhibitions, including SIGGRAP, Japan Media Arts Festivals, the Ars Electronica Festival and many others. His production credits include Walking With Dinosaurs, Matrix: Revolutions, Matrix: Reloaded, Over the Hedge, The Tale of Despereaux and Avatar.

Alisa Andrasek is an architect, academic and curator. Founder of Biothing (biothing.org) operating at the intersection of design, material and computer science, and a partner of Bloom Games (bloom-thegame.com). Andrasek is directing Graduate Architectural Design at the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture and holding a Professorship at the European Graduate School. She received Europe 40 under 40 Award, Metropolis Next Generation Award and FEIDAD Award. Biothing’s work has been exhibited around the world.

Frédéric Migayrou is Chair, Bartlett Professor of Architecture at The Bartlett School of Architecture and Deputy Director of the National Museum of Art,Centre Pompidou in Paris. Founder of the Frac Center Collection and of ArchiLab. Apart from recent publications and exhibitions, he was the curator of Non Standard Architectures at the Centre Pompidou in 2003, the first exposition devoted to architecture, computation and fabrication. Achim Menges teaches at the university of Stuttgart. and is a visiting tutor at Harvard University. His practice and research focuses on the deve lopment of inte gra l design processes at the intersection of morphogenetic design, computation, biomimetic engineering and computer aided manufacturing that enables a highly articulated, performative built environment. His award-winning work has been exhibited worldwide and is part of the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Bradley G Munkowitz has over a decade of experience functioning as a Design Director for the motion graphics industry and has remained passionately involved in the global design community, giving lectures around the world. In 2010 he led a black ops team of GFX All-stars to concept, design and execute holographic content for the feature film TRON Legacy. In 2012 he was part of the team to design all of the UI elements for the feature film Oblivion.

Alessio Erioli is Engineer and Senior Researcher at Università di Bologna, MArch in Biodigital Architecture, PhD in Architectural Engineering. His interests interweave teaching & design ecologies in Computational design, focusing on relations among matter, information, agency, space, aesthetics explored through multiagent based simulations coupled with form-finding strategies and robotic construction. He is also skilled in computational design, programming & modeling on several platforms.

Founder of Automata Technologies. Automata is a London based technology company working to democratize robotics by creating an affordable & accessible robotic ecosystem. Eva, their first product, is a lightweight, plug-n-play robotic arm, As is a graduate of the AA and the American University of Sharja, Mostafa has taught and presented work at various events, workshops and institutions both in London and internationally including the AA, UCL, RCA, University of Applied Arts Vienna, AUS, TEC de Monterrey, SCIARC.

Gilles Retsin Architecture is a London based practice investigating new architectural models which engage with the potential of increased computational power and fabrication to generate buildings and objects with a previously unseen structure, detail and materiality. The studio is interested in the impact of computation on the core principles of architecture – the bones rather than the skin. He cofounded SoftKill Design, a collective design studio investigating generative design methodologies for additive manufacturing and 3D-printing.

Alvin Huang, AIA is the Founder and Design Principal of Synthesis Design + Architecture. He is an awardwinning architect, designer, and educator specializing in the integrated application of material performance, emergent design technologies and digital fabrication in contemporary architectural practice. His wide ranging international experience includes significant projects of all scales ranging from hi-rise towers and mixed-use developments to bespoke furnishings.

Associate researcher at ZHA. His current responsibilities include developing and maintaining computational platforms for design and research at ZHA. Behnaz Farahi is an architect, and interaction designer, exploring the potential of interactive environments and their relationship to the human body. In particular she is interested in the implementation of emerging technologies in contemporary art/ architecture practice. Tom Svilans is an architectural designer, researcher, and creative technologist specializing in the experimental and creative applications of spatial capture technologies and digital manufacturing methods. Extensive experience with industrial robotics for manufacturing, commercial 3d scanning for analytical and creative applications, and software development has contributed to a wide range of skills and applied knowledge in inquisitive, fast-paced, and high-pressure environments.

Arthur Mamou-Mani is the director of Mamou-Mani Architects. Lecturer at the University of Westminster, he owns FabPub which allows people to experiment with 3D Printers and Laser Cutters. Arthur has taught parametric design tools, digital fabrication as well as environmental and structural simulation at many leading academic bodies. His numerous talks include TEDx in the US and Taiwan. His clients include Karen Millen Fashion, The Burning Man Festival, and Imagination.

Architect, researcher and computational designer based in UK. Pradeep co-founded rat[LAB] in 2012 and currently leads the research cell as Head of Research & Business Development. An Architectural Robotics Developer, based at AA in collaboration with Bristol Robotics Laboratory(UWE), to develop robotic arm fabrication process which includes developing a ‘smart’ programming environment for automated production of complex geometric structural timber elements for architectural applications.

An Architect, interaction designer, Urban Designer, scholar and maker. GET & British Council scholarship winner in 2013, Anabelle is the Cofounder of Think Happy Everyday™ a design research initiative, She is also the Founding partner and reseach head at [THE] Workshop, it focuses nurturing a community of makers, designers and students exploring new age fabrication and developing fabrication methodologies using computational systems. She is a Masters in Urban Design, and wasawarded a distinction for her research at the Bartlett (UCL).

Co-founder of Automata: a company working to democratize robotics based in London. Previously, he worked at the Computation & Design Research Group at ZHA. His work at ZHA and AA revolved around understanding material behaviour and developing innovative computing mechanisms to design and built with it. He designed and open-sourced a 6-axis desktop robotic arm assembled from laser-cut parts and ubiquitous hardware. Since then, he co-founder and started Automata around that objective.

Julia Koerner works at the convergence of architecture, product and fashion design specialised in additive manufacturing and robotic technology. Her work has been featured in the National Geographic Magazine, at the Venice Biennale, Paris Haute Couture, FRAC Centre and Art Institute of Chicago to name a few. Recepient of the MAK Schindler Architect in Residency LA 2010, the Architekturpreis Land Salzburg 2012 and most recently the Global 3d PrintShow Award 2014 in the category “rising star”.
