Jâai appris Ă mieux me connaĂźtre, mâapprĂ©cier et savoir me manager.

H OW TO S PA M AG A Z I N E
Maud, can you tell us about your career and how you came to create How to Spa? I have always had a flair for science and a passion for the world of beauty. I first trained as a cosmetic engineer, followed by a Masterâs degree specializing in aroma and perfumery. Once Iâd graduated, I worked in the communications and marketing departments of various agencies and brands. I continued my career in the spheres of digital and design, but I quickly realized that this job no longer suited me. I was frustrated at being constantly in front of a computer screen, I had the need to be out in the field, to have human contact. I took the time to really figure out what I wanted and I realized that if I didnât change, I was headed for a burnout. Very quickly, I decided to go back to what I really liked: the world of wellness and well-being. I did a spa manager training course at the International Spa School in Paris. This experience was a healing one, and I learnt a great deal. I got to know myself better, appreciate myself and manage my stress. At the end of the course, I was lucky enough to find work in several large Parisian spas, notably the Six Senses, the Peninsula Spa, and the Dior Institut at the Plaza AthĂ©nĂ©e. The more I spoke with colleagues and clients, the more I realized that there was a real need to promote awareness of the spa world and its benefits on the mind and body. This is how the concept of How to Spa was born: it aims to transpose the benefits of the spa to your home or elsewhere, by offering the appropriate tools and rituals.
