PIE RUN PIE RUN PIE RUN

PIE RUN PIE RUN PIE RUN

Volunteers had a great time handing out medals, cheering for runners, and uplifting the atmosphere of the event!

"At the Great Houston Pie Run, we handed out medals and water, gave out pies, and cheered on runners as they crossed the finish line. We also helped clean up after the race was finished. My favorite moment at the event was taking pictures of all of the members enjoying their service. I think volunteering often has a bad stigma around it and to see members laughing and having fun while providing for the community made me really enjoy my time at the event. I think the runners' experience was enhanced by all of the volunteers cheering them on. They seemed very grateful we were willing to wake up at 5 to come and support them. I think we created a very positive environment that the runners will remember and want to come back for more events." Howard Kim

"At the Houston Rocket's Dog Walk event, we directed participants, cheered on dogs as they walked through finish lines with their families and owners, and encountered a lot of adorable dogs. My favorite moment at the event was witnessing the eagerness of the dogs as they walked past volunteers directing or cheering them on. It was really valuable to see how a simple walk through the park could bring so much joy and excitement. to the dogs and their families. After walking the dogs, tents were taken down and piled up to be stored for future events at Herman Park. One thing I learned from the event is that simple things can have a lot of meaning. You could witness the excitement and gratitude of the dogs and their participants as volunteers cheered. them on. I would attend the event again because it was simple, meaningful, and located in a really pretty park in the greater Houston area. Amanda Cam

"At [Kirk Movie Night], I helped with the popcorn, played basketball with the kids, and sold items. I think this event will be impactful because it brought everyone in their family together for a break and family time. Kevin Nguyen

THIRST PROJECT

give water, give life

Key Club supports Children's Miracle Network Hospitals by having members work together to sponsor fundraising events and conduct service projects at local hospitals. Cy-Ridge often helps out at Texas Children's Hospital.

Over 663 million people on earth do not have access to safe, clean, drinking water. Key Club works with the Thirst Project to help end the global crisis for water with the Thirst 30 fundraiser.

Key Club organizations across the country have worked to raise money for the March of Dimes since 1978. After decades of strong partnership, Key Club International and the March of Dimes continue to innovate new awareness and fundraising activities which students participate in alongside joining their local March for Babies.
