With the end of the races on Saturday the awards event began. The Fun Valley crew outdid themselves with a potluck for everyone. There was tasty food brought by all and the pork was out of this world. After everyone had their fill, the awards ceremony commenced. The setting could not have been more perfect. Everyone brought lawn chairs and with the weather playing its part everyone sat outside and relished in the year’s final tally. A great amount of appreciation was shown to the track members and volunteers for running the show (flaggers, scorers, concession stand etc.). Starting off the awards were the 50Jr. riders, Zane Brownsberger took the honors of first place of the series. Every one of the riders whether or not they received a trophy or plaque should be very proud of what they have done this year at the track and all around. Some of the multiple award winners included Corey Jacobe (14-24 B/C and 125 Open), Dylan Smith (65Jr and 85Jr), Chase Conis (250 and Open B), Austin Voorhees (Quad B and Quad B Production) and last but not least, Sean Taylor (Quad A Production and Quad A). un Valley’s last season event weekend entailed racing, a hog roast, an awards ceremony then back to more racing. They hosted a great season send-off. Kicking off Saturday was powerful racing from the 250B class. Jacob Harnish showed what he could do in the first moto by crossing that finish line first with Jesse Ross second and Chase Conis in the third spot. Throughout the second moto Harnish had to work hard to stay in the top five. Harnish led through the first two laps with Chase Juhl riding in his shadow. At the end of the second lap Juhl made his move on Harnish. The race was on with Ross taking over the second place position as Harnish fell further back in the order.
