SPRING HOME MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST
Spring is a great time to do a deep clean and declutter your home as well as check for damage and debris from winter storms. Here are a few tasks to consider this time of year:
Outdoors
Have trees trimmed away from house
Check for proper grading around exterior so water drains away from the home’s foundation
Test garage door auto reverse
Have septic system cleaned and serviced
Have air-conditioner serviced
Clean gutters and downspouts of leaves and debris

Reseal or stain deck
Clean outside light fixtures and replace bulbs if needed
Replace or repair brickwork and seal
Caulk around doors and windows or add/replace weather stripping
Power wash driveway, sidewalks, and patio
Inspect window screens for holes and replace or repair if needed
Touch up exterior paint
Indoors
Spring cleaning purge and declutter
Replace air vent filters
Clean outside of windows
Replace batteries in smoke and carbon-monoxide detectors
Clean garbage Disposal
Sweep/mop under appliances
Wash shower curtains and liner
Shampoo carpets
Clean window tracts
Flush water heater
Clean or replace shower heads
Vacuum mattresses
Dust tops of cabinets
Clean out/defrost freezer and refrigerator
Vacuum registers and vents
Clean inside of windows
Vacuum or dust baseboards
Dust light fixtures and chandeliers
Check basement or crawl space for musty smells, water stain and damp surfaces.
