CADIA Update CAROLINE MORRIS TAKES OUT Apprentice of the Year

We’re proud to announce Caroline Morris from Cadia has been awarded the 2023 Apprentice of the Year award for the Western Region of New South Wales.

Caroline completed a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade with TAFE NSW and completed her Fitter Machinist Apprenticeship with Cadia’s Surface Fixed Plant Maintenance department and now works as a Mechanical Technician at Cadia.

Caroline is the first female apprentice to have successfully completed a Fitter Machinist trade on-site at Cadia in over 20 years. A huge congratulations to Caroline, Orange TAFE and the Fixed Plant Department who supported Caroline throughout her apprenticeship.

Over the past four years, Caroline has participated in numerous trade and recruitment activities, including speaking on panels and media interviews. Despite being outside of her comfort zone when in the spotlight, this award is a great reflection of Caroline’s positive attitude, willingness to learn, commitment, capability and resilience.

As a Regional Winner Caroline will now progress to the state competition, the 2023 NSW Apprentice of the Year Awards which will be held at Sydney’s Town Hall in September 2023.
