Lest we forget this Anzac Day KATHRYN WOOD In this day and age, the awareness of war and sacrifice seems to be a growing aspect of Australian society. With refugees flooding to our doorstep to escape their own war torn countries, the approaching 98th anniversary of Anzac Day will have a heightened meaning. On the 25th of April each year we pause to remember our brave soldiers who paid the supreme sacrifice to secure our own peace. With the average Australian now being more mindful of the horrors of war, this Anzac Day will be a chance for many to reflect on how blessed we are to live with freedom and peace.

Eisteddfod time! It’s hard to believe the time for the Bathurst Eisteddfod has rolled around again but entries for 2013 are already open. The 68th Eisteddfod for Bathurst will run from the 27th August until the 14th September, 2013 and is a fantastic opportunity for all young musicians, writers and dancers to showcase their talents. Anyone planning to enter should note entries need to be in by May 18th.
