Ages 19+ Carpet bowling offers the social experience of the lawn without a rain jacket or sun visor. Retreads Hiking Club

Ages 18+ The Retreads Hiking Club welcomes all people interested in fitness and the outdoors to come out and join them in enjoying the beautiful trails in the Cowichan Valley and other parts of central Vancouver Island. The annual membership fee is $25 and expires one year from the date of purchase. Pick up a schedule from the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena, Tourist Information Centre or visit www.cvrd.bc.ca. The club meets every Wednesday morning at Saywell Park in the heart of Lake Cowichan. We’ll see you on the trail! Certification Programs High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development

Ages 15+ High Five is a highly recognized quality assurance program designed to help ensure that recreation and sport programs are delivered in ways that support the healthy development of children aged 6 to 12. This half-day training will help frontline leaders (i.e. camp leaders, coaches, child care workers) improve the quality of the programs they deliver and gain more confidence, knowledge, and tools when leading children’s programs. Course content covers the five Principles of Healthy Child Development and High Five Design Guidelines and how to create environments where children thrive.
