Introduction to Fly-fishing
Our instructor is a well-known outdoor writer and photographer and will lead the class in all the basic aspects of fly-fishing, from equipment to techniques and everything in between. Intro to Backyard Chickens
Flatlander's Farm is Vancouver Island's first egg producing farm to follow SPCA endorsed small flock egg guidelines for the care of chickens. This course shares their knowledge of coop design, roosts, nesting boxes, feed, space, predators, handling, health care, etc. It is designed for anyone interested in having a flock of chickens and looking for practical hands-on knowledge of chicken care. Pets Dog Obedience
Bring out the best in your dog through this proven training program. Join this class and learn how to better understand your dog and its individual personality. Our instructor, who is the owner of K9 Focus Training Services, has taught group classes for over 25 years on South Vancouver Island. This program is ideal for puppies or mature dogs and will give you the opportunity to get a great start with your dog. In this class, you will learn how to train your dog to understand your commands for useful obedience behaviours. With guidance, you will train your dog to respond to commands for behaviour basics such as walking on leash without pulling, to sit, and lie down and very importantly, to come when called. Other necessities included in this program are gaining good social skills, learning to be comfortable in a group environment, and bark and bite inhibition. The instructor’s experience allows her to focus in on you and your dog’s needs, personalizing training techniques and enabling you to create a rewarding, interactive relationship with your dog. Dog Obedience
All Ages Learn how to use positive reinforcement to teach your dog good manners. Your dog will learn commands such as Heel, Come, Sit, Down, Stay, and Leave It. Give your dog more confidence by knowing how to behave in social situations, and around other dogs. The course is open to all ages, as long as owners are able to control their dogs, and is open to puppies as well as adult dogs. Dogs may be moved into the other class at the instructor’s discretion.
