introduction to the car and you went on a self guided tour through the back roads of Westport. P.S. the new Cayenne Six was enormous fun to drive, lots of low end torque, great roadability and a magnificent interior. In spite of all the wonderful distractions on Saturday, including a great lunch prepared by the club staff, it was hard not to notice the great white Bonham’s marquee tent standing majestically in one corner of the field. Like an enormous clipper ship laden with precious cargo, the doors opened to reveal a treasure strove cars ready for auction the following day. >>>The “Barn Find” seminars were a very interesting addition to the event this year. This Saab 96 looks exactly as it did when is was dragged out of its long sleep in the barn.

1957 red Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz with fins that carried their own warning label, numerous Porsches, a grand 1934 Lincoln and many more stars of automotive history. The Sunday program began with the eagerly anticipated Concours at 10am, followed by the Bonham’s Auction at 1pm. It’s difficult to describe the extraordinary automobiles that crowded the enormous hunt club field. They were the piece de resistance of the weekend. If you understood innovation, style and solid engineering you couldn’t take your eyes off

the 300HP 1931 Bugatti Type 54 Roadster, bold and daring; or Emmet Smith’s 1959 Aston Martin DB MK111... classic and contemporary at the same time Lastly, if you craved elegance, it abounded, my favorite was the Waterhouse 1930 Pierce Arrow convertible, a reminder that refinement and understated sophistication remain timeless. Lest I forget, the proceeds from the Fairfield County Concours benefits the Hall-Brooke Behavorial Health Services for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disorders. On behalf of the members of CVR, I want to thank Mike Odierna and the many volunteers and sponsors, especially Porsche North America, who worked tirelessly for many months, with the Fairfield County Concours team to make this event an enduring success. Join us next year.
