WHO WE ARE

The Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District (CVPRD) is proud to serve the communities of Dacono, Firestone and Frederick. We are a team of dynamic, dedicated and motivated staff that cares deeply about our patrons. We are committed to providing excellent recreational facilities and programs that promote the health and wellness of our citizens.

CVPRD is comprised of four divisions:

Administration Managers and support staff who oversee finance, human resources, marketing and communication

Maintenance

Responsible for maintaining District facilities, ball fields, etc.

Programs

Youth sports, adult sports, gymnastics, active adults, and youth programs.

Recreation Aquatics, fitness, and guest services.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A seven member board of directors is responsible for establishing board policies and overseeing high-level decisions that affect the Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District. CVPRD's Board of Directors consists of two members from Dacono, two from Firestone, two from Frederick, and one at-large member.

FACILITIES

The 50,000 square foot Carbon Valley Recreation Center houses two fitness studios, a gymnasium, weight and cardio rooms, a child sitting area (KidZone), and community rooms. The aquatics area features a 25-yard, six lane lap pool, hot tub, steam room, aquatics climbing wall, and an activity pool with amenities including floating lily pads, a lazy river, an 18-foot water slide, and a splash pool.

The 10,000+ square foot Carbon Valley Gymnastics Center features a full-size competition floor, in-ground tumble Trak (trampoline) leading into a large foam pit, cargo net, and equipment for preschool programs, as well as boys and girls gymnastics programs. The adjacent Senior Center houses fitness, social, wellness, educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities for active adults.

2022 COMPLETED FACILITY PROJECTS AND UPGRADES

The Studio in Firestone features a fitness studio and rental space for meetings and gatherings. PROGRAMS

FITNESS

In 2022 there were over 19,275 participants in CVPRD fitness programs!

To better serve these fitness enthusiasts, several class were expanded in 2022 including; cletotheCore,Cycleto Strength,HighFitness,High/Barre Fusion,BarreAbove,Restorative Yoga,ButiYoga,SHRED,Body Combat,StepIntervals,HIITthe Step,SilverSneakersYoga, BalanceandBeyond,HIIT WeightstotheCore,River Strength,RiverCircuit,Water Barre,AquaTone,DeepWater AquaTone

This year, the District was honored host several group fitness events including, but not limited to: a New Year's boot camp, Summer Sizzler,

ACTIVE ADULTS

The Carbon Valley Senior Center provides social, educational, and recreation services that enhance the independence and well-being of seniors in the community. There were 5,211 active adults visits to the senior center, averaging 435 visits monthly.

The SilverSneakers® program provided physical activity and social activities to 1,510 members. Overall, 1,904 active adult participated in events this past year including; ice cream socials, dinners, dancing, bingo, and holiday luncheons. There were also 36 off-site group trips and an outdoor walking group.

CVPRD also continued to partner with the AAA Weld County Friendly Fork Lunch programs to provide a total of 3,404 weekly meals to the community.

AQUATICS

The Aquatics department served thousands of community members through swim lessons, aqua fitness classes, swim teams, lifeguard trainings, and open swim sessions

There were over 257 swim lesson classes with over 1,504 participants at CVPRD. There were also 39 swim classes and 135 participants at The Cove, which CVPRD managed this year

The Aquatics department also hosted practices and meets for the Erie/Frederick High School swim teams, and certified 14 new lifeguards

GYMNASTICS

There were 1,606 gymnastics class and private lesson participants and had 3,743 drop-ins at the gym.

CVPRD hosted 2 major gymnastic meets this year, drawing competitors from all over Colorado. In addition to regular programs, the gymnastics center had 3,743 drop-in visits for open Gym, hosted 62 birthday parties, and brought back the Parent Tot and Little Explorer classes.

YOUTH SPORTS

More than 2,750 youth played on a variety of sports teams including baseball, basketball, cheer, soccer, softball, track, and volleyball. These dynamic youth sports were coached by 256 volunteer coaches.

CVPRD hosted 274 total participants in youth sports camps. There were 151 participants for Skyhawks and

SPECIAL EVENTS

The District is honored to participate in numerous community events such as; The Carbon Valley Rotary Easter Egg Hunt, Miner's Day in Frederick, The 4th of July in Firestone, the musical festival in Dacono, the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, and so much more! We even have a few celebrities

CVPRD is proud to have programs throughout the District. Our partnership with Legacy Dance continued to provide dance instruction at CVPRD facilities for more than 245 young dancers. This year we were also able to increase recreational programs for youth through partnerships with Square State Skate and Dacono BMX. Our partnership faciliated skateboarding lessons at the new skate park in Frederick and 45 races and 7 clinics at the #1 BMX track in Colorado.

CVPRD also offered several programs internally including camps during Thanksgiving break and for 10-weeks in the summer that served 25+ campers per week.

There were 27 successful Adult Sports this year including; outdoor grass volleyball, pickleball, a horse shoe tournament and outdoor softball. CVPRD registered 58 adult teams for summer and fall softball.

RENTAL FIELDS

The sports department managed rentals at the Firestone Sports Complex and booked tournaments and practices for 23 weekends. The Firestone Softball Complex was reserved 263 times, the Frederick Softball field was reserved over 20 times. and our multi-purpose field was reserved 40 times

COLLABORATION

• Skyhawks and SuperTots continues to partner with CVPRD to offer numerous youth sports camps at the rec center and at Carbon Valley parks

• A partnership with the Colorado Rockies CVPRD's youth baseball and softball program participants the opportunity to attend a game on Rockies Night at a discounted rate.

• CVPRD partnered with Real CO ( formerlySVFC) to increase participation, decrease attrition, and increase professionalism in the soccer environment within the St. Vrain and CVPRD communities. As part of the alliance, provides coaching resources and support for CVPRD leagues

• The District collaborated with Legacy School of Dance resulted in 41 classes that served 245 individual dancers.

• The collaboration with the City of Dacono's BMX collaboration resulted in races, 7 clinics, and finished the year as the #1 track in Colorado

• CVPRD's corporate wellness program served a growing number of businesses and employees from local municipalities and corporations.

• The Aquatics Department continued partnerships with the Frederick and Erie High School swimming and diving programs and successfully concluded an interim management of The Cove.

• Intergovernmental Agreements with the Town of Frederick, Town of Firestone, City of Dacono, and the St. Vrain Valley School District gives CVPRD access to additional facilities and fields to run programs for District citizens.

• The District contracted with Rock Creek Track Club to bring recreational track programming to the community.

• A partnership with the Colorado Rapids to have a Rapids Night with discounted tickets for youth soccer teams.

• The collaboration with Cheer Central Suns brought 5 new recreational cheer classes to the community for 144 participants.

• Colorado Lottery Starburst Award for Outdoor Fitness area project

• Fitness article published in CPRA Byline Magazine for CVPRD Outdoor Fitness area project

• United Way grant for CVPRD Active Adults activities

• Carbon Valley Chamber Community Impact Award

• Improvements to Rec facility including; installation of new flooring, striping, padding and backboard remote

• Two successful regional gymnastic meets for both boys and girls on newly installed gymnastics equipment

• Upgraded fitness at CVPRD by transforming former fitness studio, which is now a circuit machine area that creates more space in weight room and additional stretching area in the circuit room
