Our volunteer fire fighters receive nationally recognised training and respond to a range of emergencies to support their communities.

The NSW RFS welcomes members to undertake a diverse range of roles, not just frontline firefighting.

Our volunteer firefighters work as part of a broader team which includes communications, community engagement and logistics support roles. We also have a Cadet Brigade where children aged 13 to 18 learn the principles of firefighting, team work and community participation under the guidance of experienced and approved mentors. Many of our cadet members progress to operational and support brigades to further develop their skills and qualifications.
