The lead up to the 2015 season threw up some significant challenges to our club. Among these was; the turnover of several committee roles, coaching positions and training staff in addition to the new focus on the development of the clubs strategic plan. The late departure or Earl Spalding to take up the senior coaching role at the Perth Demons set us behind the eight ball in the search for a new A Grade coach. Finally in late December we were fortunately able to secure the services of Kris Miller subsequent to his retirement from South Fremantle. So the season commenced with a number of new faces in key roles. The committee was expanded and restructured into a Board of Management. This was a reflection of our understanding the need to enhance our off field activities with the aim of achieving a further edge in an area that we understood we do many things better than a lot of our rival clubs. This focus resulted in some significant rewards. Our major community initiative fundraiser ‘Pink Tiger Day’ was taken to another level by H, his organising committee of Josie Cooper, Leonie Grace. Anne Pride and Sensible Sue with the outstanding support of our Events Manager Jesse Wilson. Our club is proud of your effort and commitment to this fantastic cause which has enabled the McGrath Foundation to employ additional home care nursing staff for the unfortunate sufferers of breast cancer. By topping $50,000 for the first time in our fourth year event the club received official recognition from the WAAFL through the presentation of the Presidents Award at the medal count evening from WAAFL President and Life Member John Davies. Special mention goes to PwC for coming on board as the major sponsor of this event. Wesley Curtin Amateur Football is a nominee for the Fox Footy Community Club of the year. Part of the nomination process was an opportunity to send two of our coaches Scotty Hobbs and Kizza G to Melbourne to literally rub shoulders with Alistair Clarkson, Damian Hardwick and Luke Beveridge in the Fox Footy Rewards Program coaches seminar. Mark Hayter for all his efforts with this initiative attended Kirribilli House with Sue on invitation to meet with the new PM for the tenth anniversary of the McGrath Foundation. Finally congratulations to Tails and PC for their extraordinary effort in raising $7,500 through their membership at Fine Tune Fitness. This demonstrates the positive impact a Community Club can have on the young men that come together to kick a football around with their mates on a Saturday afternoon. Our club has been nominated for the RAC WA Sports Star Awards to be announced on December 7. Our on field expectations were uncertain early on. We hoped the addition of key personnel to our paying list in Frenchy, Fozz, Cordey, Rich and mid season Red would hold us in good stead for another tilt at the A Grade flag. The 1s were able to overcome the late season staggers to smash Kelmscott and CBC in the first two finals before eliminating TAs to earn their fourth grand final berth in four years. The record books will show we failed by 11 points to bring home the flag. The result didn’t ruin the day as we ran our first GF luncheon for the players partners, travelling families and club supporters and sponsors. All 90 crammed into one of the function rooms at Bassendean Oval. A packed function back at the club followed allowing our players to lick their wounds and steel themselves for a genuine crack in 2016. My hat goes off to Kris for his efforts in nearly bringing home the bacon in his first year as a coach. I look forward to watching your ongoing development in the coming years and receiving the success along the way that you know too well is so rare to the majority that play our game. Thanks to our leadership group for stepping up and giving Kris the help and support that he was seeking to implement his club and team philosophy. If Gerard Whateley can have a man crush on Nat Fyfe then I think I am allowed to have one for our skipper and six times B&F winner Gravy. I am not the first to say I have never seen a better captain at any club in the three states that I have been involved in footy. The passion you show for your teammates and the club and your selfless approach to your role defines you as an individual. I hope you go around at least one more time mate to get another taste of the success you deserve. Our premiership cabinet received a boost this year with the E3 flag for our Hi Fivers under the guidance of first year coach Kizza G. Premierships are always earned. When you lose your first game of the season by 93 points and don’t kick a goal it’s hard to imagine that five months later you will defeat that same side by 32 to 8 in the GF. Our club recognises that we lose too many players during and between seasons. Kizza proved that many of these players are not lost and with some persistent urging can reclaim their passion and enjoyment for the game. Congratulations to all involved in this remarkable performance and for delivering our clubs 16th premiership. This was also an excellent year for our colts teams. Budgie with the help of DB and Rocket and Hobbsy with the support of Matt delivered 25 wins during the minor round with Hobbsy’s team making finals for the third successive year and Budgie returning our A Colts to the finals arena. The taste of finals involvement and the disappointment of not being able to make it through to the grand finals in both their grades will help refocus these groups for next season. We have a tightly knit group in the colts and look forward with anticipation to the retiring colts becoming a core part of our future senior success at the club. Our 2s,3s and 4s didn’t participate in finals this year. With up to 12 players from our top side being unavailable in the first half of the season we never really had the depth on the park to make an impact in these grades. Thanks to Damo with help from Parso and Bob for their efforts. Although we didn’t improve our win loss record the overall performance was more competitive this year. Drewy and Suma were able to extract a lot more commitment from the 3s side who improved their record to five wins from only one in the previous year. Dimo stepped in to take on the 4s at late notice and whilst disappointed they were unable to compete in the finals this season his selfless attitude towards selection did assist both Drewy and Kizza in their efforts. The missing ingredient from these sides is strong participation at team selections, presentations and club functions. If this can be suitably addressed then I am sure we will see all these teams climb their respective ladders next season. Your

fantastic support to our other sides participating in finals shows that you are committed. I hope you can all take the next step. Congratulations to Klint Willo and Harry Whiteside on their Association medal honours. We have made mention at the club of Harry’s fantastic achievement to participate in sport whilst managing his Type 1 diabetes. Both deserved winners of awards due to their on field and off field commitment to the club. A special mention to the Edmunds family, the involvement of all the boys in playing capacity over the past few years and of course Alison for loaning them to us! Grant has helped me in an assistant coaching and management role, took over the reins when I was unable to continue in that capacity and this year took over most of the clubs football operations responsibilities. Whilst his initial role was Club and A Grade Team Manager he is always willing to help out with any other football or club management matter that arises. I admire your commitment to the club Grant and hope that you can continue on next year. Edo has done an amazing job as our Registrar and ditto as for Grant with his overall involvement. The on field success of the colts can be largely attributed to your preseason work including O-Day. Welcome back to John Hobbs and many thanks for helping out in our football department this year and jumping into the bench with the 1s in the back half of the year. It has been great having you around throughout the year. Thanks also to Timmy Walker for taking on the Communications Manager role this year and for the fantastic leadership you have provided to our colts group. I have no doubt you will be a future leader at our club. Congratulations to Gnomey for his most meritorious award. 30 seasons as a player and coach at our club may never be surpassed. It has been great fun working with you in the back part of your journey and to enjoy the clubs successes with you in 2012 and 2013. The club has been very fortunate to have you there in an official capacity for this long. Enjoy your time off. I hope you will be back in another role as some stage when circumstances suit. Well done to Scotty (KWillo) Hobbs for his Best Clubman award. I can’t say how much I appreciate you taking on the Bar Manager role in addition to the amazing job that you have done with your colts team. The depth of your personality and character is only surpassed by the level of your modesty. Thanks for your efforts this year. The club generated a strong operating profit for 2015 as H has covered in his Treasurers report. Fantastic job by you and your team including Jesse as head of our social committee, Hobbsy as our bar manager and Grant for recruiting and coordinating our trainers. They were all supported by Mel who did a great job in the new role of Club Manager and of course Rocket who again pumped out the Thursday night meals for the players. Thankyou to all the ladies that helped us run this important area at various times throughout the year. I received a lot of help in my first year as President from Dymo, H and Rocket. This made the role an easy one to perform. Instead of thanking you all for your tireless years of commitment to the club I just want to thank the three of you for your friendship over the past six years which has meant a lot to me. Three of the best blokes that I have ever had the pleasure of working alongside and being able to enjoy a drink or two with. 2015 sadly brings a temporary end to my involvement at the club as I am relocating to Brisbane for work. My only regret is that I didn’t know about this club when I moved to Perth as a 26 year old when I was looking for a club to have a kick. That would have given me another two decades with the best group of people I have ever come across at any sporting club in my life. I am in awe of the combined commitment of the people that make this club work, To have had the honour to be President for just this year has been an absolute privilege. Go Tiges!

A GRADE Unfortunately for the club it was a case of another year with the same result. In an amazing effort the playing group were able to get themselves into another Grand final which is an extremely difficult thing to achieve. What it also showed is that winning premierships are even harder and rarer to achieve. There were many challenges this year, a new coach replacing a successful and iconic coach of the club in the previous five years and a playing group who had played in the previous three Grand finals winning two of them. Winning is hard enough but keeping the motivation of doing and improving on the things that help get sides into these positions is also not easy. The season started with a good win over North Freo where we were able to, in a rare situation for the year, field one of our strongest sides. This, however was followed up by two losses including one to a rampaging Trinity Aquinas who inflicted our biggest loss of the year which was only 37 points. The first half of our year ebbed and flowed a bit where we couldn’t really gain any momentum and we turned at the halfway mark with 5 wins and 4 losses. This was due to some unfortunate circumstances of player unavailability for varying reasons of travel, work and injury. At one stage there we were probably missing 12 of our best 16 players which can really test a clubs depth. Our second half of the year was much better where we were able to win 6 out of 9 games including two fantastic wins over Trinity Aquinas and Uni in a three week period. We finished the year in 4th position on the ladder with only one win less than the previous year where the club finished 2nd showing the evenness of the competition this year particularly at the top end. In the first final we played Kelmscott who had won their previous four games including victory over Uni in that period. With a strong team in with a fierce determination we were able to beat Kelmscott by 83 points to set up a semi final against CBC, one of two teams we hadn’t beaten for the year. That desire and determination was continued into that game where we put CBC to the sword to the tune of 90 points to then set ourselves up with our next challenge of Trinity Aquinas at Bill Grayden Reserve. In tough conditions we were able to beat them by 8 points by playing some tough hard footy and absorbing the late challenge from the minor premiers. We took on Uni in the Grand final for the 3rd year in a row. In blustery conditions they were able to get the jump on us early which was the difference in the game. We were able to win each of the last 3 quarters but it wasn’t enough as we went down by 11 points. The pleasing part was that the players never gave up and fought the game out right until the end. Our Best and Fairest this year went to Richard ‘Matches’ Cronin. Rich was new to the club this year but settled in quickly and was well liked and respected by the players for the way he went about his footy. The way he attacked the ball and the player was fantastic to watch and was a great example to everyone of what can be achieved by playing at such a high intensity. Our runner up this year was last years’ winner Trippo. He

missed a couple of games with injury this year but his ability to recover and continue to run as hard as he does in a game is a credit to his determination. His ability to also adapt over the year to playing a different role was also fantastic which I think will make Trippo an even better player next year. Third place went to Wheels who is also another new player to the club. The intensity that this guy plays with is not dissimilar to ‘Matches’ Cronin in the way he goes about it. His flexibility for us was very important and his ability to finish 3rd while missing games thru injury and work at a new club is a testament to him. Fourth place was a tie this year between Frenchy and Gravy. Frenchy, another new player to the club, had a fantastic year and fitted into the group seamlessly like all good Tasmanians do into a family like environment. Like Wheels his hardness at the contest and his flexibility was hugely important to us and I can see him being even more influential next year. Gravy as our captain again this year led from the front tremendously. Our style of play was largely built around this guy, of hardness and relentless pressure. For him to finish high up in the best and fairest is a great credit to him considering his work pressures as well as being club physio at training and match days half the time and galvanising the group as captain making sure everyone is on the same page. There are many people who helped contribute to the club this year which gave me and the players the best opportunity for success. To Gerry and H, their help and passion for the club was hugely influential particularly with some transitions within the club this year. As an outsider coming in the way the club is run is second to none and I know of some clubs who could gain some valuable lessons out of it. To Grant in his role as footy manager was a fantastic help to me in my first time role as coach. Grant was always there at training and game days and nothing was ever too hard for him and his help was much appreciated. To Gnomey who was the assistant coach this year was massively important to where we got to this year. Gnomey filled in as coach twice throughout the year and did a tremendous job. He wasn’t going to do it this year but when Earl went to Perth he stayed on at my request as I knew I would need a lot of guidance and help as I had no idea about the competition or team I was about to coach. His understanding of the game and his reviews of the games each week was highly valuable and particularly important, come finals time which showed with some of our results. To Hobbsy Snr, Percy and all the other people who helped out on game day throughout the year thank you very much for your help as every little contribution has had a positive effect on the league outcome this year, to Peter Hayter, your contribution this year was much appreciated and you are a worthy winner of the Coaches Cup. To all the other coaches this year, well done on your efforts. To have both colts’ sides in the finals is a big positive for the club and to Kizza on the 5’s premiership it was just a fantastic result of what perseverance and dedication to the cause can achieve. Congratulations to Dymo on his 300th game achievement this year. The dedication it takes to play 300 games particularly at amateur level is phenomenal and to combine that with all the other things that Dymo does for the club off field makes it an even greater achievement.

To all the other players who achieved milestones this year congratulations and particularly Pents and Tayls on their 200 game milestones. I’d also like thank my wife Jenae and Hannah, Charlotte and Noah for all their help and support during the year it made my job as a first year coach much easier.

In closing I would like to thank everyone for their help this year and welcoming me into the club. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing throughout the year but it is very rare that clubs and teams have it all their way all the time. It is about how everyone responds from these situations and I think if we can all grow and learn from the positives and negatives from the season i’m sure we can go through a different feeling of euphoria after our last game next year. Cheers Kris

A RESERVES I’ve always been told ‘If you cannot do, Coach’. As a result of this I’ve always strived to one day hold an outright coaching gig at Wesley-Curtin. This year I got that chance. A successful coaching stint at any club is dependant on the help and support of everyone around. From the excellent work of previous presidents in Rocket and Dymo, to the recently completed debut season of Gerry, this mighty club has always had stability and structure which allows its coaches and players to maintain focus on the things that matter. This year we entered the reserves season with the aim of not only lifting the on field standards but also the off field comradery that seemed to have waned in previous seasons. Coming along for the ride with me was Josh Parsons, his knowledge of the game is only surpassed by his thirst for a tin so it was great for me having him as 2IC most weeks. Also very keen to help was another bloke, who like myself and Parso, enjoy the post match tins as much as playing, Bobby Harman. Without these two blokes helping, this season would not have been as enjoyable as it was, so a big thank you to both. Ultimately however, the reason any of us play football is to win premierships (Gerry). Unfortunately this season we didn’t go anywhere near close enough to achieve this. Heading into round one we had questions as to how we would stack up against other teams in the comp. Another good off season of recruiting by the league side suggested we would have the opportunity to have use of surplus league players who would be pushing each other for their spots back in the top side. It was however, the development of blokes in the lower grades that was the major reason for us being competitive for the majority of the season. The promotion of guys like Evan Heazlewood, Luke McKenzie and Camden Taylor showed there is always talent hiding in plain sight. Tight losses at the start of the year ended up costing us dearly and as a result we needed everything to fall our way late in the season for the chance to play finals, this didn’t happen. Leading from the front all season was newly promoted skipper Klinton Williams. His commitment to the cause can never be questioned, and even in games where he asked and needed rests his white line fever meant he pushed himself to the limits, much to the lament of the coaching staff trying to enforce any sort of rotations. This commitment and talent was proven by his winning of not only our Best and Fairest, but also the A Reserves association Best and Fairest. It was interesting to see how much Klint let himself go between the end of season and the awards presentation night at Crown Casino. I’m sure a clean shave and a couple sessions down at Fine Tune Fitness and he’ll be back in tip top shape come 2016. Klint couldn’t carry the team on his own though, enter Raymond Francis Padfield. Getting the filthy swine down to the club was great for what we were trying to achieve on and off the field and his willingness to get his hands

dirty means he also has one hand on this years Best and Fairest with Willow. Both these blokes well and truly deserve the tied award this season. Although Willow has many years at the Tigers left in him, it is The Pig who is following his heart and making the big move to Albany for love. It’s been a pleasure having this bloke around and we wish him all the best in his business venture which is also a small reason for his move to the Great Southern. Throughout the year, we prided ourselves on the ability of the Reserves Football Factory feeding players up to the top side. Blokes like Codie Thiele, Scotty O’Reilly, Chris Tikoft, Declan Newing, even the skipper Stephen Gravina had to cut their teeth in the Reserves to prove they were worthy of the league call up. I truly believe the most important thing for football clubs is the players’ desire to play as high grade as possible, it’s because of this that is so pleasing to see these blokes push their way up through the grades. Fast becoming a wily veteran of the reserves, Aiden Ietto has had his most consistent and successful year at Wesley-Curtin resulting in him winning the newly named “Andrew Harman Runner Up Best and Fairest Award” in honour of Andrews ability to consistently achieve this award. Aiden’s reliability was shown by racking up 16 games for the season. His flexibility as a player meant we were able to use him at both ends of the ground at times. Congratulations on the award and also the arrival of his first child during the year. One of the blokes who we saw the most improvement over the season was a man from Estonia in Chris Tikoft. He well and truly deserves this Best First Year Player award. From his initial impression of plodding around the ground, Chris had the ability and determination to keep pushing all game and fast became one of our most important players. A full preseason uninterrupted by his role as Brienne of Tarth next year will no doubt catapult him into regular league team selection. Thanks to everyone that helped this season, from Parso and Bobby helping out coaching to Martin Edmunds frequently receiving calls from myself on a Saturday morning after forgetting the team sheets again. Also good luck to Gerry on his move for work next year, Gerry has always been the man I have gone to for advice on footy matters and although we often have robust conversations on certain issues, I always know he’s got my back, so many thanks for that. We successfully lifted our off field output, now all that is required is an improvement on field, coupled with a little bit of ‘C on the B’ and I believe we can make a real dent in 2016.

D1 GRADE It was clear after the first month of results that season 2015 was going to be a challenging year on field with 2 standout teams (Trinity Aquinas/North Beach) raising the bar high for the remaining challengers. The focus for the group was to progress on the results of the previous season (1 win) by keeping structures simple, with the goal to compete 1 quarter at a time in every single match. The first month of the season would see us lining up against 3 of the 4 finals teams, resulting in substantial defeats, however it was clear from the outset of the season the players weren’t going to give up and continued to work hard regardless of the scoreboard. Suma and I had assembled a young and eager group willing to commit and work together, the results of this were shown in rounds 5-6 where we would win back to back games against Mount Lawley (26 points) and Scarborough (27 points). The goal was to beat the sides that were sitting around us on the ladder, these two wins were very important in the context of the season to keep the enthusiasm of the group at a high level. We know how hard the midseason point can be if you haven’t got results for the work that you’ve been putting in. After playing each of the opposition once it was clear that we were able to match it with most sides for a half, however the inability to play out 4 quarters of footy would be the downfall for the group. Training numbers were well down on previous years; no doubt this was the reason for match fadeouts and loss of concentration with the players becoming more fatigued. For the regulars that would be in attendance for training the emphasis was on building the high work rate for the training period ensuring every player got something out of the session. The last half of the season would see the side win 3 matches, resulting in a final season win tally of 5, we would overcome Mount Lawley and Scarborough again, but the ultimate highlight of the season coming in the final round with a 36 point victory over the 3rd placed North Fremantle. (The previous meetings against North Fremantle had resulted in 40 and 56 point defeats) What a way for the group to finish, a great reward for the players continued efforts during the season. To go from 1 win to 5 the following year is a great effort for the players, hopefully this success can grow over the coming years. As much as the wins were a highlight, for myself, as coach it was great to see players progressing and taking their opportunity to play up in the Reserves. In total there were 12 or so players to move up with a handful even holding their positions. Well done to these guys, it’s important the players in the lower grades keep putting pressure on those above.

A big thank you goes out to the Skipper Geldo for your support! It was a tough season with the results not going to plan, the way Geldo supported the guys with his enthusiasm and encouragement made sure the team were always ready for the battle. Thanks also to Chummy as Vice-Captain, your positive nature clearly rubbing off on the group. Stepping up to the 3’s coach this season was made easier knowing I had the support, guidance and experience of Suma on the pine with me, a massive thanks from me Suma and I hope you can continue to help coaches at the club for years to come! Also a big thanks to Brett Smith, who returned to the club after a few years off and slotted in to the position of runner. Smithys help this year was much appreciated. Thank you also to my beautiful wife Kelsey for your continued support during the season, it doesn’t go unnoticed! Lastly I’d like to thank the football club for their continued support and the opportunity to coach for a 5th year running.

D1 RESERVES Well 2015, what a great year for the club, the league making it’s third consecutive A Grade grand final (and fourth overall) and the High 5ers showing a dominant display against the highly fancied Forrestfield league in the E3 Grand final. Well done to Kris in his first year as senior coach, not an easy task, but got us to the GF, just need to go 1 better next year. The 2015 season for the 4stars will be remembered as being a bit of an up and down year. The nature of the 8 team comp and the leagues masterful fixturing ideas meant that we played four teams three times through the season (Scarborough, CBC, North Beach and North Freo). We ended the season with a 7/11 win/loss ratio and 3 wins short of a finals berth. On that note, we will reflect on the positives for the season – the 7 wins. Round 4 saw the introduction of Scotty to the club for his first game – he didn’t last long in the 4s or the 3s or 2s... but was extremely important in our first win for the year. Nothing like beating CBC at their home ground. Round 6 we were up against eventual wooden spooners in Scarborough, we took a while to get out of the blocks but ended with a solid 6 goal win. Round 11 was the start of our run of winnable games as we set ourselves to win at least 5 of the next 8 games. With a run of CBC, Mt Lawley, Scarborough, University, Scarborough, North Beach, CBC and North Freo, this was definitely possible. Round 11 saw the return of Billy Mearns, he didn’t disappoint, the kid can play. He sat forward and worked hard all day and was instrumental in our 1 point victory, we actually won by 7 points but both goal umps forgot to record our goal in the last quarter. It was a thrilling piece of roving off the pack from Scott Hobbs, with a quick kick down to PC at full forward who finished off with a goal. Round 12 we kept our accuracy in check and it saw the first time in club history that 3 out of 4 Williams brothers played in the same team. Leigh started strong, but injured his hammy early in the 2nd. Billy also unfortunately injured his knee and didn’t play another game for the year. However, with 2 short on the bench and a few others limping around the place, we were able to hold Mt Lawley at bay and recorded a 10 point victory – thanks in no small part to the 4 colts that doubled up that day. Round 13 we were at Scarborough and were a bit undermanned. After a slow start and halving the first quarter, we managed to keep them scoreless for

3 quarters and registered our best victory for the year 2.2 to 9.13. Jack Hobbs snared a couple in a rare outing for the club this year, and Scott Hobbs pinged his calf in the warm up for the 3s game. Round 14 upon us and Josh Parson was back in the team. This, along with the 4 colts doubling up and Chummy running boundary for colts, playing 4s then doubling up in the 3s was an effort worth selection in the All Stars. The result wasn’t great, but wasn’t our worst. Round 15 and we were back at Scarborough, once again we started slowly, but our depth of 22 players was the difference, the team was buoyed by the High 5ers bye and saw Jeffrey Santoso play his first game of 4s for the club. He didn’t disappoint with long searching leads and quick wit. The 48 point victory was satisfying. Round 17, and the moment we had all been waiting for, the return of Bob to the 4stars (after playing against Mt Lawley in round 5), Dunny was also back from his Ashes Tour. We managed to beat CBC for the 3rd time for the year, this time a comfortable 26 points. What a day and what a night, we celebrated hard the return of Bob. And then we were up to round 18, I was unfortunately ill and in bed for the duration, but Kizza G helped out and took the boys through their paces. North Freo went through theirs a bit better and we were beaten by 9 goals... The 2015 season was a difficult one for the 4stars, we managed to play a total of 106 individual players this year, which was the most for any team at the club (and some kind of record). We did have the help of the second colts quite a bit more that we would have liked, big thanks to Hobbs jnr’s boys, our best effort one week was 4 2nd colts doubling up. One notable mention – Shorty played every second week in the 4s and managed to miss every win, he also doubled up in the 3s on a couple of occasions, they didn’t win either. Now to the players – our equal best this year were Peter Cameron and Amedaus Tomini, both had great years (with Arma finishing with a 5s premiership) and were extremely important to the team. PC was vital to straightening us up in front of goals, and Arma’s attack on the ball in the midfield and general hardness around the contests was exceptional. Runner up – Shane Just, bit of a swing man this year. He played a fair bit in the ruck (only as a necessity) and on ball, had a great year. Was also vice captain. Our next best was also lucky enough to play in the 5s premiership – Mark

Hambley, played some very important roles on a wing and in defence this year. A very smart footballer. And Chris Armstrong rounds out our top 5. Was great on the other wing, he had a solid middle part of the year, was great to play in the same team as Chris after so many years. Finally the thankyous, firstly to my coaching team, Jack Hobbs the magnet man and David (son of TCQ) Quain the team runner. Thanks to both of you for helping out this year, it made it far easier for me to play and coach knowing that the bench and rotations were sorted for the duration of the game. Its also great to have you both involved when you decided that you were probably not going to play this season . To Daniel Drew – tough year, but its been great fun. I’ve really enjoyed the last few years as your assistant and

now this year with you as 3s coach, and Kizza congrats on a great achievement in coaching a premiership, hopefully your “recruiting” can continue next season. To anyone that umpired for the 4stars this year, your time and effort is much appreciated, to Gav Levitski, the effort you put in to arrange all the clubs field umps for each week is definitely appreciated. On a personal note, a big thanks to everyone that came down in support on my 300th game, it was very humbling to have had so many people involved on game day and after at the club. In my 22 years at the club it is definitely close to my finest memory. Finally a massive thanks to Sarah, Nicholas and Stefano. You guys are great... thanks once again for giving me the chance to coach at the club.

E3 GRADE If someone had said last year the 5s are a shot for the flag no one would of taken them seriously similar to the responses I received claiming it at the start of the year but with a home and away record of 13 wins 3 losses finishing 2nd on the ladder we were well poised for the brutal assault we made on the finals and wasn’t it spectacular. Wesley Curtin High 5ers Premiers 2015. It all began when I was approached by the Wesley Curtin Football Club on the 2014 coaches trip regarding a head coaching position in 2015, I initially played hard ball. Credit to the Club hard ball gets are a specialty amongst the recruiting staff and they wore me down in minutes. The confidence to take the roll came from a lifetime of taking rolls, from chicken and salad to meatball subs, there are few rolls I am afraid of. Along with my experience with rolls I spent the previous 12 months in the second colts coaching staff being groomed by Scott Hobbs and boy does that man know how to groom, my beard looked spectacular, he also mentored me. Before the season started my expectations as a first year coach were as high as they get, coaching an A grade club in the lowest possible grade? Walk in the park, I could smell the silverware, it smelt like steak, I was eating a steak. Just because it was the fifths didn’t mean I couldn’t dream big I had plans for this team and I was going to do whatever it took to make it happen. It turned out whatever it took was aggressively harassing guys who weren’t playing asking them to play. This formed my coaching philosophy “It’s not what you know, It’s who you know” and I knew a lot of good footballers who weren’t playing football. The season started with a less than desirable result, a 98pt loss to the rhinos, with 8 scoring shots all points and a man with 10 goals of his own at the other end this was a low point for the season, luckily up was the only way we could go. As numbers immediately started to thin through the grades the harassing intensified and to fill the team we were able to bring in some players who weren’t able to train to earn their spot, and the results came in the form of a couple 100pt score lines going our way, with one slip up in Ballajura again dampening our spirits I said to the team we wouldn’t lose to them again. More big wins followed as we shaped as a top tree contender still yet to face West Coast. The west coast game loomed as a season definer the 2 v 3 clash ultimately telling us how far we might be able to go this year. After injuring myself the previous week I was forced to coach my first game from the sideline and it was nerve racking, especially showing up at the ground without a ruckman or our leading goal kicker. Luckily we found a ruckman and the goal kicking solved itself within 5 mins were 5 goals up with no sign of slowing down. For some reason we slowed down and let West Coast back in to it, she was a close one right to the end eventually sealed with an electric snap from Ian putting us 5 points up when the siren rang. After a week off with a forfeit on pink tiger weekend our next game became even bigger as the fixture reset and now 2nd place we were facing the team that had sentenced us to 2nd last place the last time we met. Our boys showed up to play keeping the 1st placed Forrestfield to a goal and having 5 of our own come half time these rhinos weren’t looking so scary this time around, after half time however the pensioners turned it on and caught back up very quickly, this can be credited to poor form from the coach leaving at half time having to attend the missus 21st is a fair excuse though. I received the message whilst at the party we had gone down by one point, a questionable call from the Forrestfield goal umpire being the final winning move by the rhinos. Knowing now we could go with the best of them the High 5ers stormed home undefeated in the 2nd half of the year cementing 2nd spot in the 2nd last round and setting up a home final against West Coast. Meeting west coast at south oval for the 2nd time in 3 weeks without a game in between the confidence from putting them away so well in the previous game

was probably a burden as it took till the 4th quarter for our boys to really put their foot down with a clinical display of pace and control finishing the game off with little retaliation from them. The Semi-final followed as we trekked back to Forrestfield for the first time since round 1 and the haunting 98 point loss. With 6 players and a coach representing the round 1 team on that day we knew it was going to be a very very different game. The boys clicked playing our own brand of fast paced team footy every line stood up and played their role the backline exceptional in absorbing every attack the rhinos had and turning it into an attack of our own. The game was close but our boys looked on top in almost every section of the field our run and some handy goals getting us over the line comfortably in the end. The week off was uneventful. Grand final day came and the boys were ready to bring the Boom. I told the boys before the game that I was happy with making the grandy completely satisfied with the season regardless of the outcome today but I was also a big boy and I tend to take a little more than I need. The fellas ran out everyone was pumped up and ready to go and even the weather was on our side. The game started and we looked dominant but with a score of 5 – 0 at quarter time we clearly hadn’t capitalised on our early dominance luckily for us the old rhinos were sore and slow after having to play one more game than they hoped and they never looked threatening, we were by no means spectacular but the youth and speed we had on the park was too much for them to overcome and we came home 4.8~32 to 1.2~8 winners. What an awesome season and for a first time coach I couldn’t have had a better year, the premiership a clear highlight but a big thing for me was firstly being able to bring blokes back to footy either from not playing at all or leaving during the year being able to give these guys a game and above all have them and most of the boys who played with me all year enjoy their footy I could not be happier with that outcome, at the end of the day everyone wants to enjoy their footy and being able to contribute to that was my pleasure. AWARD WINNERS During the year votes were done with a lot of thought and care to ensure the right people were rewarded for their efforts. In doing this a HIGH 5ER formula was created and points added to the votes over the entire season. The HIGH 5ER bonus votes came from a number of Criteria as shown with the votes tally and were applied to the top 30 vote getters to determine the Best and Fairest winner. Unfortunately for Visser he was one of 2 people to miss out on the handball bonus meaning he was unable to finish outright leader as Jeffa has racked up a miraculous amount of HIGH 5ER votes to snatch a draw. So our Best and Fairest are. HIGH 5ER BEST AND FAIREST JEFFREY SANTOSO Played 14 games for the year with 3 goals to his name and at least 5 50m penalties A lot can be said about this man. His impact on every game, whilst not huge on the stats sheet, never goes unnoticed. If its running 70m on an unrewarded lead or backing into a pack of players twice his size he is the first one to get up and go again. Jeff improved all year thriving on the talent that came in around him he was one of our hardest runners and by far the best trainer in the team. But it was on game day where Jeff made his mark, his enthusiasm and passion is contagious, myself and the other players fed off it every week. While he did miss out on the big day I could not speak higher of his character asking straight away to be the runner as much a part of our success as anyone. If anything is a measure of how much this bloke is respected at our club it is the amount of messages and opinions players and coaches alike at all levels had about including Jeff in the grand final team, from the response that kicked up for Jeff it is evident he has a lot of good mates at this club and a lot of respect. Well done on a spectacular season Jeff congratulations on High 5er Best and Fairest.

BEST AND FAIREST NICHOLAS VISSER Played 11 games for the year with 70 goals to his name. Visser was one of the captains for the year captaining most games he played happily sharing the duties with Willow, both of which have coached the 5s in previous years and both gave me a heap of support all year. Visser is not being awarded for his captaincy believe it or not it was his goal tally that got him over the line, 70 goals in a season is an awesome effort especially only playing half the games. As good as our team was there was only one occasion we managed to kick a big score without him with bags of 11 and 8 multiple times he was a focal point for us and with the delivery he got at times he probably could have done better but the situation never demanded it. Nic has been a great captain and helped me a lot during the year commanding the troops and winning me games. Well done Best and Fairest Nicholas Visser RUNNER UP BEST AND FAIREST JARRAD ZYLSTRA Played 8 Games for the year with 6 goals to his name. One of the products of my mass facebook messaging at the start of the year, Zylstra played his first game back in round 2 supplied Visser with some of his 11 on the day and kicked 3 of his own in the last quarter, Jarrad was a class above all year, if his work schedule allowed him to train Jarrad could have made an appearance in any grade. His great skills and crazy fitness meant I could name him in the middle and let him run all day only coming to the bench in the finals series with a bloody nose. His ability to read the game and make it his own all year was phenomenal polling votes in every game he played and without missing a few games with a shoulder injury at the tail end I am sure he would have got a few more. RUNNER UP BEST AND FAIREST NICHOLAS MUSCA Played 6 Games for the year with 8 goals to his name Musca played his first game for the year in our big round 1 loss of 98 points but still managed to poll votes from the umpires clearly dominating around the ground but didn’t quite have the support he needed. Again with the rest of the games he played he continued to poll votes from us and the umpires his ability to find the ball and burst from the contest was

first class and was seen up the grades when his work allowed him to play the earlier games. Luckily I got him back for finals and he like most of my finals team were awesome all finals he both provided the forwards with opportunities and had plenty himself even if he didn’t convert a few of them he did end up with a pair of goals in each of the finals whilst also being a dominant midfielder, like Jarrod Musca could end up in any grade next year and will be an asset to any team. MOST CONSISTANT RYAN MELVIN Played 9 Games for the year with 3 goals to his name. This award could have been many things from Most Consistent to Most Courageous even Mr Fix it. I am not sure where Melvs was in the first 2 rounds but it felt like he was with us all year, one of our more experienced players Melvs played a number of roles all year and consistently won his position I started him in the backline because that’s just what I knew he played. It was then suggested he go to the midfield where he spent most of the year and killed it constantly crashing contest, getting the ball and leaving the other guy worse off and repeating his efforts all day. Making contest after contest sometimes from his own kick or spoil Ryan is a team player and all year was putting his hand up for key roles. The most notable being his role in the semi and grand final taking there leading goal kicker out of both games leaving them with almost no avenue to goals. His grand final stats was 3 epic spoils yet one of the most influential players on the ground. Well done Melvs on a great year. Last but not least I would just like to thank everyone for the great year and all the support and opportunity I was given from the players to the other coaches and Gerry, H, Rocket, Martin and Mel everyone has been awesome and I had a great year. Biggest thanks goes to Kassie for putting up with me Thursday to Saturday glued to my phone trying to get players and still supporting me every step of the way, watching games helping at the bar and even sitting for hours in the hospital with one of the boys who broke his collar bone, what a champion. PHIL SCOTT COLTS It was an exciting year to be a part of the Wesley Curtin colts program this year. Following an uneasy year in terms of results in 2014 it was exciting to have such a large number of players return in 2015 hungry to make amends on the perception of the club at a colt’s level. In terms of numbers, the club had 70 young players represent the colts in both grades (Phil Scott Colts & Brett Jones Colts), with 36 of these players returning from the year 2014. In the A colts we had 49 players rotate through at some point of year and ended up having 30 players represent both the A and B colts throughout the year. In the landscape of having such a large number of football clubs available to 17 and 18 year olds, these are some extremely healthy numbers to have and it’s due recognition of all the hard work the club has done in previous years. To then add on the success of both teams qualifying for finals with 12 wins and 13 wins respectively, it reiterates my point above in that it genuinely was an exciting time to be involved in the program. It was clear early on about how serious the returning players from last year were about 2015 with a lot of the senior boys wanting to become the fittest team in the competition. This was most evident with some heavy player-driven running sessions occurring through the weekends of January & February. Our first official session was held on the first Monday in March with roughly 60 players coming down - a significant upgrade on training session #1 since my first year. Unfortunately the confidence built up in pre-season came crashing down in round 1 with the boys dropping the first game to North Fremantle by 3 goals. This would ultimately come back to hurt us as the boys pulled through to win 7 of the next 9 rounds and finish the first block of the season in 3rd position behind University and North Beach (both these teams beat us by 5 points respectively). Memorable wins during this time includes a 6 point win over rival Trinity Aquinas in round 2, a come from behind win against (then) top of the table Mt Lawley in round 4, and a very convincing win over the usually successful CBC in round 9. Our good work and momentum were halted slightly after the mid-season break with unfortunate losses to Trinity Aquinas (17 points) and University (23 points), however yet another 3 point win over Mt Lawley at home (arguably the best win of the year) showed that we were worthy of a finals spot with the best teams in the competition. The final 4 weeks of the season finished with an ugly 13 point loss to Kalamunda in

Kalamunda, an equally ugly win over 2nd placed North Beach by 8 points and then consecutive 10 goal + wins over CBC and West Coast to really go into the finals with confidence. Had other results gone our way in those final 2 rounds we could easily have been looking at 3rd spot and a double chance come finals, however this was not the case and we settled for 4th spot and an elimination final vs Kalamunda. In what was expected to be a tight contest, the players rallied together to put on the most demanding 20 minutes of the season in the 1st quarter to setup a match winning 4 goal lead. It was just reward for some of the guys who had played the year prior with just 4 wins. The confidence from the first final was at an all-time high and after a shock upset in the first semi-final our opponent in the 2nd week turned out to be a North Beach outfit that we had beaten only 3 weeks prior. They ultimately proved that they finished 2nd on the ladder for a reason with an uncompromising display that ended our year, beating us by 61 points (our biggest loss for the year). Although unsuccessful in the quest for a grand final the boys should be proud of their efforts. They were incredibly united as a group, it was very rewarding to be a part of it. The squad as a whole were led exceptionally well by our leadership group which consisted of Captain Jack Bechilli (19 games out of a possible 20), Ashton Brown (13 games), Fraser Mead (18 games), Harrison Whiteside (20 games), Jack Campbell (16 games), Tim Walker (19 games) as well as Jake Archer (2 games), Riley Jupp and Kurt Giltrow who represented the 2nd colts in the leadership group. All of these guys proved vital to making sure the boys strived to meet the high standards that were asked of them each week. Some notable mentions also need to go to some players who fought through and contributed strongly to the team throughout the whole season from start to finish. Defenders Sam Withers (19 games), Ryan Powell (16 games), Niall Hayres (19 games), Sam Moir (15 games), Fraser Mead, Ash Brown and Tim Walker consistently set really strong standards for the team all year. Our midfield group was one of the strongest in the league with Harry Whiteside, Liam Campbell (19 games), Jarryd McDowell (19 games), Nick Trinder (18 games), Kasey Nicholas (18 games), Riley Arbon (19 games), Jack Flynn (15 games), Jake Anderson (16 games), and Liam Kelly (13 games) leading our team from the front at all stoppages.

Major members in our forward half included Nick Edgar (16 games), Jack Bechilli, Joel Hooper (13 games), Sam Dennis (19 games), Randall Hodgeson (9 games), Corey Holmes (9 games) and Luke Burns (14 games). Special mention must also go Harrison Whiteside who took out the N.E Donaldson Medal for the Best and Fairest of the league, an award that not only Harry was proud to receive but the whole squad were all incredibly excited about when they found out. Finally, the length of such a footy season can be incredibly long and hard sometimes and there are few people I would like to thank for their support throughout the year. Scott Hobbs as not only coach of the 2nd Colts side but full time assistant at all training sessions and colts events while also doing his bit managing the club bar, playing and also taking the occasional stats for league – massive effort by

any stretch. Dave Burton came on board this year as team manager, dropping down from the 1’s, and was instrumental in making sure the boys routine every match day was consistently the same. DB’s assistance in the truck on matchday and run down of the game via email every week was incredibly valuable. Carden Taylor made the move from vicecaptain last year to assistant and defensive coach this year. It was pretty obvious from the outset how much all the boys listened to Card’s and his leadership really came to the front towards the end of the year. Rod Phillips also jumped on board as team runner this year after stepping down as club president last year. He was also assisted by Grant Edmunds on a few occasions when Rod’s body wasn’t holding up. Final thanks must also go other club staff for their assistance throughout the year – Gerry Mabarrack, Damian Amesz, Kris Miller, Martin Edmunds, Dean Diamond and Mel Smith.

SCOTT HOBBS

It could have been the year, it really could have. A good team, a great coach, good depth, a great coach, this year had it all. Sadly it wasn’t to be, that’s all for the sad stuff.

Most Improved- Issac Harders

It was a tremendous year for the BJ colts. We finished 3rd, the highest by the Wesley Curtin 2nd colts to date. We had a good chance of finishing top of the table, a funny season we finished the season in the lowest position we ever sat which shows the strength of us this year. Falling over to CBC in the elimination final was the finish to our strong year, would have been nice to go one better than last season but it just wasn’t to be. Onto the award winners…

What a story he is, I would love to produce a movie on Harders year. Came down quiet, polite and very honest, letting us know he hasn’t played much, would be happy to get a game in the 2s. And at the start of the year he was right. Issac was a sponge though. He trained as hard as anyone and he really cared about how he was playing. Any instruction you’d give him he’d take on board and if he needed to know more he’d ask and then re absorb more. A coaches wet dream of a guy to coach. Harders managed to finish equal 5th in our B&F and was an integral part of our teams dominant backline.

Best & Fairest- Riley Jupp

Most Determined- Jake Archer

No its not a joke, Juppy has capped off a great season with the B&F. He was the skipper this season and he lead strongly all season. Playing off the half back all season I genuinely don’t believe he played on an opponent once but his cut off marks and rebounds were dominant. A massive turn around for the guy who last year was named in the leadership group to only play a couple of games and frequently call Bunge and leave him long voice messages, and now I would honestly say is one of the best leaders in the colts squad, well done Jupp

Another great season for Arch. Would be in the midfield week in week our giving his absolute all. Plays every game with a high level of passion, sometimes going too far and punting things that aren’t the footy. He has played under every year I’ve coached and has finished to 5 in the count each year. A great layer and bloke, let’s hope he kicks on and leads some colts boys into the seniors.

Runner Up- Jack Reynolds Dead set superstar. This kid can seriously play and you really have to see it to believe it. An absolute clearance machine and a class player. 25kgs of toughness, the kid gets ragdolled each game and keeps pushing through. I could write an essay on how much I rate this guy, if anyone is chasing a topic for their thesis I would recommend this guy. Best Forward- Adam Middlemas I wouldn’t say he’s the easiest bloke to coach but man can he play. When the game is on and time to get serious he would be all focus. Adams talent is serious and can totally destroy a teams defence, I can only write this now because I’m pretty sure he’s illiterate and he’ll never know.

Was a pretty good year for the club this year. Great work by Kris and the boys this year making another A grade GF, disappointing as is expected but its great to see the start of a dynasty beginning over the last few years. Bunge, awesome stuff. I couldn’t have been happier seeing your boys go this year. This season proved the work that was there last year through an average season to rebuild for this year and everything came together. Would love to see them go further but I am purely stoked that both colts made finals this season. It’s a great position for the club. I would also like to thank the club for letting me coach again this season, I’m unsure whether I will go on next season but have been stoked to have made finals for 3 years and hopefully the boys can go one better next year with or without me. Let’s get ready on the off season everyone, remember like me, your body is a temple.

Another great year for the club, and the off field was solid as always. Like the last few years we enjoyed the bulk of our social events at the Swan Rowing club.

few leave behind their wife. Loses his wife and his wedding ring in the same night and still together with her today, a tip of the hat to you sir.

With the generous continued support from The Broken Hill Hotel we had another 6 presentation nights at the platinum sponsor’s establishment. Big thanks to Phil and the boys for their wonderful support and hospitality this season.

The Tony Notte Memorial Reverse Raffle was back baby, but was by far not the the biggest part of that night. The clubs own Ghandi without the good parts, notched up 300 games in what has been a stellar career for the man off and on the field. Was fantastic to have him honoured as only the second person to have reached such an achievement is showing of how hard it is to do. Back at the club with some beautiful speeches, some tears (H?) and a good few drinks the club celebrated the great man. Along with this was the Tony Notte Reverse Raffle and like always a good showing and Sensible Sue was near unstoppable, destroying anything Jako and Jesse put in front of her. Sadly she couldn’t take the win but the honours went to a deserving winner in one of the colties Luke “Bunsen” Burns winning over Perko. Well done Bunsen.

We welcomed the first social event of the year as the “Time Machine” party. New theme and as always a great time had by all, drinks flowing dancing it was a ripper. ‘H’ and the Pink Tiger team put on an absolutely unbelievable 5th annual Pink Tiger Day, raising over $50,000, a ridiculous effort. This etched the club as the highest fundraising community club for the foundation in the country. A new initiative by the club was the men’s tent so a few of the men can get involved in the day without disturbing the gorgeous girls in the large marque, until later. With a couple of strapping young bar tenders, and Sam Dennis, the girls had a wonderful day. Sadly the results didn’t follow. With the sun going down meant the Pink Tiger Day moved to an amazing Pink Tiger Night. Both tents merged and the partying really began. A huge thanks to The Fit Swimmers who rocked the house and everyone got down on the dance floor. A great day for all and a big thanks to all those involved. The marquee event of the season, the annual Tigerland Cocktail Party, was back at the Swan Rowing Club. A brilliant turn out with a great attendance. The guys looked sharp all suited up, pretty sure some for the first time and the ladies looked amazing in their cocktail dresses. Special mention goes to Ash Phillips. Some people leave wallets, phones or jackets at a party very

With another flag in the bank the High 5ers celebrations back at the club in Sept were great, sadly the league didn’t quite get there but a serious effort from 4th and for silver lining we knocked out CBC in straight sets, yet again, and also TA’s which I think the whole WAAFL were saluting us. That being said it meant the end of the year and a big night down the club celebrating a great season it was. Let’s move to next year. A big social year is impossible to do without a great team around it. A huge thankyou to the social committee boys Matty A, Rafe, Richo, Kizza G, Sammy Dennis, Strauchanie and Chummy. The year is impossible and very draining without you guys so from Jesse and myself thank you. Hoping next season to have a few more boys on the social committee especially from the colts turning ex colts.

A few people I need to thank Jesse, simply a superstar for the club. Organising all the major events of the year takes a lot of time and effort and you somehow do it all while playing in the A-Grade league as one of the best ruckman in the competition. It’s ridiculous. Massive efforts and a huge thank you. H, Gerry, Rocket, Dymo, Martin all the committee, the tireless efforts of you guys will never go unnoticed. To Mel, you star. You have changed the club for the better and you know how much I love having you there, mainly as a scapegoat but nevertheless its huge. On the social sense you and your girls run the place impeccably. And to anyone who helps set up, pack up, clean up or anything. Its little things but they make such a difference to the club. I can’t name you all but to anyone who helps in the slightest it’s a huge help to us all. Thank you Lets get prepped for a huge 2016 season, can’t wait to see you then Hobbsy, Bar Biatch

The “best clubman” award is presented to an individual who makes a contribution to our club that is above that, which we as a club, could normally expect. It may be that their effort far exceed their designated role, or they have no official role, but make an outstanding contribution to the club, nevertheless.

The club is pleased to announce Scott ‘KWillo’ Hobbs is the recipient of this years Best Clubman Award. Apart from being one of the bigger characters of the Club (with his sharp wit) Hobbsy has been a key part of the clubs progress over the past three seasons as our Second Colts coach, committee member, social committee representative and this season as Bar Manager. The time he commits to the club is quite extraordinary when you consider he start off coaching at 10am in the morning and is often still there to clock up on Saturday nights. Hobbsy has also been responsible for talent spotting and mentoring the clubs latest premiership supercoach Kizza G and has always been willing to collect medals on behalf of players unable to attend the WAAFL awards night. The club thanks you for your commitment and passion and congratulates you on the achievement of Best Clubman 2015.

The Most Meritorious Performance is awarded to the person who has achieved the most for the club from a purely football perspective (as opposed to Best Clubman which involves both on-field and off-field contribution).

This year’s award goes to Jeff ‘Gnomey’ Miller. Season 2015 sees the retirement of one of the Clubs legends from the coaches’ box. Gnomey has pretty well done it all for this football club. Five times club captain, two premierships, three times league B&F, twice State representative once as captain and 1991 All Australian Amateur. Assistant coach in the clubs first A Grade and B Grade premierships including thirteen finals appearances from sides he coached or assistant coached as well as coaching the State Colts sides on five occasions. His commitment to the club has included three years as Secretary and four years as Treasurer. Gnomey was looking to step back at the end of last season. Due to the appointment of a new A Grade coach he decided to take on the A Grade Assistant Coach role for one more year. Further to being a Life Member and Club Sponsor for over twenty years his great character and selfless persona makes him the best company one could ever find to share time with at any club. We take this opportunity to thank him for his outstanding achievements and recognise his clear choice as Wesley-Curtin’s Most Meritorious for 2015. Go Wigen... you are my sunshine..

And the winner is....Peter Hayter Pete wandered in to Wesley-Curtin at the start of season 2012. He has become our match day organisation anchor. His standard Saturday at South Oval commences at 9am setting up the coaches areas and finishes around 8pm when he completes packing up for the day. Whether it be timekeeping or assisting with stats he is always willing to help. Pete and his wife Margot have also made themselves available many times over the past four seasons to assist with the Thursday evening meals. In recognition of his fantastic support to the club, coaching groups and players we are please to award Pete the 2015 Coaches Cup.

Forward Pocket - Scotty 5....4....3....2....1 - Managed to play every grade this year in consecutive weeks, well he would have if he didn’t ping a quad before his first game for the club in the 5s warm up, managed to get back into it after the quad was right and was quickly snapped up by the 4s, then the 3s then the... you can see where this is going... also had a great poker face... Full Forward - Longy Coached Forrestfields super team to the unloseable 2015 E3 Grand Final, also managed to sit himself at full forward and kick more goals than Visser in the E3s. Great to have a quality forward in the team that can tell you exaclty what he’s kicked in his career... Other Forward Pocket - Kongy Flew in straigh from the Macau Peninsula just in time for the first hand in the first Tiger Casino night, had the general punters scared with his 007 suit and fancy poker chip tricks, also managed to ping both hammies while doubling up from 4s to 3s in his second game back for the year. Half Forward Flank - Santoso First picked in my team every day of the week, and was automatic selection for the All Stars this year. Was also the most annoying, I mean persistant, when it came to training. Was controversially left out of the E3 team during the bye this year and had a stellar break out performance in the 4s that week. Look to see him hitting the peptides in the off season. Centre Half Forward - John “Hobbsy©” Hobbs The original and still the best, the Cornetto Crusher, the Drumstick Demolisher... picked in the team for many cameo performances this year, baby sitting in the 4s, baby sitting on the bench in the 1s, supplying a 4s dual premiership player and for the ability to fit a 50c piece up his nose.... no matter what they say Hobbsy - you still got it, you also have 3 quarters of Stevies Drumstick and his middle finger. Other Half Forward Flank - Luke Burns Voted most popular colts by the colts the week after the Tony Notte Reverse raffle, was a far more popular winner than the other three finalists (sorry Sensible). Was surprising to actually see the kid still alive the week after winning the first prize... Wing - Dymo For the love of god, why is this guy in the team again. Took on a coaching role this year just so that he would get selected. Managed to knotch up his 300th game for the club and boy have those been average. I haven’t seen a guy run around on the field with less of an idea of how to play since I played last. Look to see him in the integrated side next season... Centre - Fieldo Took out the onion award at the Tony Notte Reverse Raffle, managed to narrowly chew his way ahead of Sensible to claim the prize. Also managed some kind of record for challenges attempted, got through all three not sure what he actually won though, but it wasn’t any cash, damn those challenges were worth it right fieldo... Wing - The Frenchman Its been a while since someone has been picked purely on the strenght of their salad, in fact Salad Dawson was the last bloke picked for that reason. This year the Frenchman fought a tight contest with Sammy G for the title and selection in the yearbook, looks like the Frenchmans Quiff or is it Quim, won the day...

HBF - AshP Managed to do it again, spent half the season on holidays but still secured a premiership, all off the back of 5 games with the High5ers. Did manage to fit in a couple of quality A Grade games before his assault on the finals series, and he sports a quality headband. Centre Half Back - Matches Not many of the players came home with anything from the A grade grand final, it wasn’t all sad though, Matches did manage to get himself a BJ on the day. Also took out the A grade Fairest and Best, and smashed a heap of players this year, look to see him running through a pack... Other Half Back Flank - Wheels Wins the orange on a tooth pick award this year. Wheels was selected in the team as the most out of proportioned player at the club, its amazing that he’s actually able to stand let alone run and get a kick. Look to see him on your dashboard... Back Pocket - Cam “the honeybadger” Walker Picked purely because Gull said he would pull his sponsorship if he wasn’t in the team, now I may have misinterpreted this but I’m sure he meant the honeybadger and not himself, although I may be wrong. Full Back - Chaff Was redubbed as the fisting machine after his performances in the A grade finals this year. With the winged keel in front Chaff is able to get extra elevation and thrust in all his fisting performances, watching him in action is quite titillating... Back Pocket - Matt Dixon Snares a back pocket this year purely on the strenght of his performance at the post A Grade GF wake at the club. Did a far better job of holding up the bar and regaling the drunks than his dad, who wasn’t seen at all that night. Look to see him bowling right arm fast in the off season. Ruck - Alby Was a quality performer on the High5ers mad monday, in fact the summer dress is a genuine article in his wardrobe, not sure about the man spreading though, was rather disturbing witnessing his man junk on display under the frilly number... Ruck Rov - Harry Harry was a standout performer in the A colts this year, managed to take home the league fnb, generally automatic selection in the team. But his off field performances were what really set him apart and garnerd him selection in the team, such a sweet kid... Rover - Red (not sauce) Recruited to the club during the mid season trade week, the club managed to swap him for the set of goal posts at the southern end of the oval. Great to finally have a ranga at the club thats a good bloke. Look to see him stealing the S4UCE license plates during the off season. Coach - Kizza G Kizza put his hand up, whilst drunk at the coaches weekend last year, he wasn’t quite sure what he had put his hand up for but when he turned up at the start of pre-sesaon he was in charge of a brand new footy team (we one relegated from E2s last year). Bit like selection to coach the all stars, although this teams never been beated, lets not let the club down now Kizza...

Interchange Musca - managed a premiership and runner up in 2 grade fnb this year. Sitting on the bench as the game is a curtain raiser to a dockers match so he wants to get off early and shower up so he can watch the dockers S Willo - was barely upright after the High5ers premiership, managed to lose an arm wrestle to stevie, fall off a bar stool, lose his premiership medal, fall off a bar stool, ring his mrs to pick him up, fall off a bar stool, forget that he had called his mrs and get a taxi home, fall off a bar stool, get the taxi home and then his mrs arrives 9 months pregnant... well done willo Bunge & Parso - these guys come in a pidgeon pair, although its more like a pale-throated sloth pair. Both have the amazing speed of the sloth, and parso generally aspires to be a sloth. They have been picked in the team to help out in the back line if the opposition has two resting quarter pounders, or they are playing 2 short...

The Club would like to thank all involved with Pink Tiger Day over the last 4 years, lets make it bigger and better next year
