If you would've asked me four years ago what being a woman meant to me, l'm not sure that I could've come up with an answer - at least my own answer. I probably would've regurgitated something surface level that I'd heard someone else say, like "being a woman means being able to do anything a man could do". Which definitely isn't wrong, but as I've grown and developed my sense of self, I can confidently say that my view of what it means to be a woman has grown deeper and solidified.
Being a woman means being unapologetically yourself, especially in this day and age. For centuries, women were stifled - only given a place to speak and be where it was deemed appropriate. To be a woman in 2023 is to honor the women who broke the glass ceiling before us, as we continue to rise and shatter expectations. Being a woman means being resistant, a force to be reckoned with.
More than anything, being a woman is complex. It's dynamic, and powerful, and inspirational, and while at times it can be scary, ultimately being a woman is about being who you are to your very core. Women contain multitudes, and you can't put us in a little box. We're multifaceted, and we can be whatever and whoever we want. Womanhood is a beautiful, magical thing and I am so proud to be a woman.
