Souls Were Precious Entities that Floated Across the Universe

some, if applied enough pressure, would chip or bruise, affecting them permanently, never able to be fully repaired again. some would morph over time, taking new shapes, growing, shrinking, earning new qualities, becoming slightly brighter or duller. but this was unheard of: two souls combining completely, so close in structure and distance that they fused together, creating a new entity entirely, yet one that was oddly familiar. the two human bodies held onto each other with all their strength as they anticipated their ending. they breathed into each other’s skin, lives flashing before their eyes. they whispered meaningless gestures into each other’s ears, carrying the weight of the galaxy in their hands while they held each other’s faces. as their human bodies dessicated, their souls never left their position, gripping each other until they no longer had to hold on tight to stay upright.
