Lonely Night

Topya Sassine ’24

Table for one for a lonely soul As my wandering mind is at its best Our once-eternal love turned to coal Feelings of admiration turning into detest.

What in my eyes was fate But to you meaningless and vague Giving you full control, letting you dictate A toxicity that soon resembles a plague.

I never knew true love until I met you, And I never knew true heartbreak until your betray. Weeks have gone by and I still feel blue. The hope of you coming back is impossible to get away.

I sit here now, mourning over our past, Alone once again, losing my serenity, I was so naive to believe that we would last, Never thinking silence and loneliness would be a necessity.
