Capping Ceremony

This afternoon was Cushing’s Capping Ceremony, when the community begins to celebrate and say goodbye to our seniors and postgraduates. The event, held on Quimby Field, marked the fi rst time Cushing gathered as a whole community in more than a year. Each senior came forward with one or two individuals they had chosen to “cap” them. Then there was a dramatic drumroll and the crash of a cymbal as the cap was placed on their head. The ceremony ended with faculty members Chelle Salvucci and Bob Macioci singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Only nine days until commencement! #CushingAcademy #CushingGraduates #PenguinNation
