BILLIE’S YUMMY BAKERY ADVENTURE Sally Rippin Can Billie bake the most scrumptious cake in the world? Publisher: Hardie Grant Edgmont|Hardback Rights available: Audio Agent: Pippa Masson (pippa@curtisbrown.com.au) Description: Billie B Brown is a feisty tom-boy whose best friend is her next-door neighbour, Jack, who is good at building cubbies but not as good as Billie on the monkey Bars. Billie is a refreshing change for little girls tired of princesses and fairies and in this story has to negotiate the politics of Kindergarten in baking an amazing cake with the co-operation of the class, despite setbacks including a magic mix that turns her cake from fantabulous to disastrous. Sally Rippin was born in Darwin and grew up in South-East Asia. As a young adult she studied traditional Chinese painting for three years in Shanghai and Hangzhou, which inspired her first novel Chenxi and the Foreigner. Sally is the author of many books for children, including the popular Billie B Brown and Hey Jack! series, and the highly acclaimed children's novel Angel Creek. Currently, she lives in Melbourne with her partner and three sons, and writes and illustrates full time. 25 Curtis Brown Australia / Rights Newsletter / www.curtisbrown.com.au
