AVENTUS TOWERS

Aventus Tower is the industry’s first accessible playground tower. We combined six breakthrough inclusive innovations to create a fun and exciting way for everyone to access new heights of play. See why Bill Botten (U.S. AccessBoard, retired) called it the “most inclusive composite play structure he’s ever worked on” at gametime.com/aventus

Arise Climber

The Lookout

The top of a playground tower is a fantastic place to be! You feel like you’re up in the clouds looking down at the playground below. It completely changes your perspective on the world around you. However, for people with a disability, this experience is too often out of reach.

We rethought what the top of the playground tower should be, and it’s called The Lookout. First there is an accessible route all the way to the 12-foot-tall, enclosed platform thanks to SureGrip™ and the EveryBody Plays® Arise Climbers. We made the Lookout larger than other tower enclosures, so everyone has room to move about. To reduce the feeling of being “closed in” we used our SteelForce™ wire mesh to create a compliant enclosure that also feels open and airy.

GameTime’s SureGrip™ material is an inclusive game-changer. The textured surface makes it easier to climb, crawl, or scoot from one platform to another, even at different deck heights. With the Arise Climber, we took things to the next level. This curved climbing surface looks amazing, like a winding path to the top of a mountain, but it also includes equally amazing inclusive features. Along the sides of the SureGrip material are handholds that provide extra grip for users who want to scoot or drag along the pathway. Along the sides are handrails at the top and bottom for extra support and assistance. At the top are more handgrips to assist transfer into the Lookout.

Inclusive Play Pocket

Life may be all about the climb, but everyone knows you can’t climb all the time. Sometimes you need to take a break, gather your thoughts, meet with friends, and prepare for what’s next. Our Inclusive Play Pockets are tailor-made for such reflective and restorative moments while exploring Aventus Tower.

These fun, cozy spaces are installed along the path to the top of the tower, and out of the flow of traffic. They’re designed at transfer height to make it easy for people to take a break or interact with optional play panels and GT Sensors™. You can use them as sensory relief spaces or sensory play areas. They provide a lot of flexibility and a ton of additional fun.

One of the most important aspects of inclusive play is communication. It’s a key developmental domain that helps children learn to express their feelings and ideas, and it enhances language development from an early age. We incorporated a fun way for children to communicate at every level of the Aventus Tower with our Talk Tube Panels. Talk Tube Panels can be installed on any support upright on the Aventus Tower, but we love putting them on the tallest ones that go all the way to the top. Children on the ground can carry on conversations with people halfway up the tower or up in the Lookout. There’s no need to install additional tubes in the ground or add more components to the play space. Everything is contained within the system.

Transfer Platform

Transfer platforms and transfer systems have been around for decades. They are the first line of accessibility when it comes to playground equipment, making it possible for users to transfer from a mobility device and onto the play structure. Even though transfer platforms have been around for a long time, that doesn’t mean they can’t improve. We brought some innovative power to this product, too.

The Aventus Transfer Platform utilizes wider steps and platforms and features built-in handholds on both sides to make transferring easier and more comfortable. The handholds are installed at three different levels to accommodate a wide range of users and their abilities.

GT Sensors

When people play, they incorporate all their senses. Sensory play is essential to childhood development, building neural connections in the brain, enhancing cognitive skills, and creating spatial awareness. Our GT Sensors™ make it easy to add sensory play to Aventus Tower.

Add GT Sensors to the Inclusive Play Pockets to provide auditory, tactile, or visual play elements. There are GT Sensors that enhance fine and gross motor skills, imagination and curiosity, and creative problem-solving. We have adaptive-switch capable sensors, too, making sensory play even more accessible.

Inclusive Motion Activities

Freestanding, inclusive motion activities empower kids of all abilities to experience the joy of play. Spinning, swinging, and rocking activities promote physical, social, and emotional development, ensuring every child enjoys the essential benefits of a truly inclusive playground. GameTime offers a wide range of inclusive motion activities, including adaptive swings, seesaws, spinners, and more. These four activities are some of the most popular motion activities in our collection and they make it fun for everyone to play together.

Inclusive Playground Climbers

Climbing equipment on a playground builds confidence, strength, and coordination. Kids tackle challenges, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a sense of accomplishment as they scale new heights. It’s a vital component for a well-rounded play experience. When you make it accessible, even more children realize the benefits of climbing play.

GameTime invented the Sensory Wave Climber, the award-winning design that makes playground climbing more accessible. Available in different sizes and configurations, it can be outfitted with auditory, tactile, and visual sensory play activities. In addition, we created the industry’s first inclusive playground net, GT Wave®. GT Wave features our EveryBody Plays transfer platform and a SureGrip path of travel all the way to the Zip slide so everyone can join in the fun!

The same SureGrip surface that made GT Wave® the industry’s first inclusive playground net is part of Aventus Tower!

Communication Panel #6375 $2,619

Inclusive Communication Panels

We partnered with Boardmaker, the leader in Picture Communication Symbols (PCS) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). These highly-recognizable symbols are used by millions of people the world over to facilitate inclusive communication.

Our freestanding Communication Panel sign (above) uses Boardmaker PCS and a full alphabet for spelling out words and phrases.

Our double-sided Communication Panels (right) can be installed above or below the deck of a PowerScape play system. One side uses the Boardmaker PCS, the other uses ASL symbols. This make it easy for children and adults to express themselves during play.

The Boardmaker symbols are printed in high-contrast colors to make them easy to see and read. The Communication Panels are made from durable high pressure laminate (HPL) that’s weather-resistant and easy to clean.
