EDUARDO BRAGA GOVERNADOR DO ESTADO DO AMAZONAS | AMAZONAS STATE GOVERNOR

Our government maintains the firm purpose of creating adequate conditions for development, making use of every venue of positive activity of the State and of the Country, for maintaining and preserving our environment. Thus we promote and support, more and more, the transformation of Amazonas into a new Brazilian cultural pole, and this has been a singular point among the actions of our Government. The creation of the Amazonas Film Festival, now in its third edition, is an integral part of a cluster of ways to attract the cinema industry, and the effort to establish a cinema pole, which will join all the conditions for such an enterprise, beginning with a firm political decision. We will begin a new term in office and we shall continue to overcome the challenges of preparing Amazonas for the future, whether it be through the efficiency of our public administration, through satisfying the needs of the population, through the growth and variety of offers for employment and income, through professional qualification and through the raising of self-esteem by the accomplishment of an expected increase in the indexes of human development. Art and nature, knowledge and dedication, walk side by side here, with respect to our forest, our rivers, and to our people, while doing cinema: we have, after all, developed a most productive and efficient cultural policy. Everything we do is based on the fact we know that the future is now, and it lies here in this world of preserved forests, and waters which are a blessing for us.. For all these reasons the world is on our screens, while we prepare Amazonas to be seen on all the screens of the world.

preservação do meio ambiente. Por isso, promover e estimular, cada vez mais, a transformação do Amazonas em um novo pólo cultural brasileiro tem sido ponto singular nas ações do governo. A criação do Amazonas Film Festival, agora em sua terceira edição, integra um conjunto de caminhos para atrair a indústria cinematográfica e a busca de estabelecer um pólo de cinema, reunindo todas as condições para a empreitada, a partir de uma firme decisão política. Iniciaremos um novo governo e continuaremos a vencer os desafios de preparar o Amazonas para o futuro, seja na eficiência da administração pública, na satisfação das necessidades da população, no crescimento e diversificação de oferta de emprego e renda, na qualificação profissional e na elevação da auto-estima com a realização das expectativas que possam elevar os índices de desenvolvimento humano. Arte e natureza, saber e dedicação caminham juntos por aqui no fazer cinema com respeito pela floresta, pelos rios e por nosso povo: afinal, temos desenvolvido a mais produtiva e eficiente política cultural. Tudo fazemos porque o futuro é agora e está aqui neste mundo de florestas preservadas e águas que nos abençoam. Por isso o mundo está nas nossas telas, enquanto preparamos o Amazonas para estar em todas as telas do mundo.

Movies have always held a special place in the life of Amazonas. The natural beauty, the exoticism of the region and the vocation of our people for great challenges, have made this scenery the ideal place for a cinema pole which, due to its particular characteristics have much to contribute for the sustainable development aimed by everyone, and which is the main focus of our Government's actions. In its 3rd edition, the Amazonas Film Festival is strengthened not only by the quality of the films shown, the careful work of the professional crew, based In Brazil and in France, as well as by the diversity of activities which we shall experiment during the 7 days of presentations, an enormous step for the consolidation of the Amazonas Cinema Pole. It behooves us to mention the great conciliation of thinking about audio-visual means which is also possible, due to the outstanding presence of the illustrious participants of the juries, the workshops, lectures and work reunions, such as the Festival Forum, the Brazilian Cinema Congress, the Brazilian Association of Documentaries, the Association of Cinema Producers, and the Brazilian Association of Cinema Cartoons. Finally, this is a very special moment, in which the strength of our forest is linked to energies brought from distant places such as Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, India, Honduras, joining strength with close companions, who have come from all over Brazil, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom and Argentina. An almost planetary convergence. The screen world of Amazonas, and the largest set in the world!

Em sua 3.ª edição, o Amazonas Film Festival está fortalecido, não só pela qualidade dos filmes que serão exibidos, trabalho cuidadoso de uma equipe de profissionais baseados no Brasil em França, como também pela diversidade de atividades que teremos durante os 7 dias e que representam um enorme salto para a consolidação do pólo de cinema amazonense. Falamos ainda de um enorme congraçamento do pensar sobre o audiovisual, possível graças a também primorosa presença de ilustres participantes dos júris, das oficinas, palestras e das reuniões de trabalho como Fórum dos Festivais, o Congresso Brasileiro de Cinema, a Associação Brasileira de Documentaristas, a Associação de Produtores de Cinema e a Associação Brasileira de Cinema de Animação. Enfim, um momento muito especial onde as forças da nossa floresta juntam-se às energias trazidas dos mais distantes lugares como Irã, Cazaquistão, Coréia, Índia, Honduras, para somar-se aos companheiros mais próximos, vindos de todo o Brasil, do México, dos Estados Unidos, do Reino Unido, da Argentina. Uma convergência quase planetária. O mundo nas telas do Amazonas, e todos no maior set do mundo!

With outstanding films including “Days of Glory” and “The Wind That Shakes The Barley”, the 2006 edition features unusual settings and little-known stories. A major film festival’s mission is also to provide the public with new horizons and different perspectives on history which may challenge prejudiced beliefs. This is often made possible only by filmmakers whose films are hardly ever released in major chain theatres and who couldn’t share their work with us – were it not for festivals like the Amazonas Film Festival. “The White Planet” will probably cool down festival-goers from the tropical, muggy Amazon and remind us of the dangers of global warming, which is already affecting Manaus due to excessive deforestation. The 2006 edition will hopefully be blessed by showers during the screenings and sunshine the rest of the time and a Rio Negro teeming with water and fish.

O objetivo de um grande festival de cinema é também apresentar ao público horizontes novos e olhares diferentes sobre a história que, às vezes, modifica preconceitos. Freqüentemente, isto só é possível graças ao trabalho dos cineastas pouco vistos nos grandes circuitos comerciais de distribuição, e somente divulgados em festivais, como o Amazonas Film Festival. “O Planeta Branco” irá sem dúvida refrescar os espectadores da umidade tropical da Amazônia, e nos lembrar dos perigos do aquecimento do planeta cujos efeitos já são sentidos em Manaus, devido ao excesso de desflorestamento. Que esta edição de 2006 seja abençoada pela chuva durante as projeções e pelo sol o resto do dia e por um rio Negro abundante em água e peixes. Desejo a todos um excelente festival. NELSON PEREIRA DOS SANTOS DIRETOR | DIRECTOR – BRASIL | BRAZIL

Born in São Paulo on October 22, 1982, Nelson Pereira dos Santos hás four children, Nelson, Ney and Márcia, from his first wedding with Laurita and Diogo, from hi second wedding to Ivelise Ferreira. He has lived in Rio de Janeiro since the early 50’s. He studiedLaw at USP (1947-1951), he practiced journalism at the “Diário Carioca” and “Jornal do Brasil”. A co-founder of the first Brazilian Cinema School, in Brasília, (UNB- 1965-1995) and of the school at Rio de Janeiro’s UFF (1970-1998), Nelson started his brilliant career in the movies in 1955 when he directed the prizewinner “Rio 40 graus”, which was followed byt “Rio Zona Norte (1957), “Mandacaru Vermelho” (Red Mandacaru) (1961) “Vidas Secas” (Barren Lives) (1963), “Ogun's Amulet”, (1974) – “Tenda dos Milagres” (Miracle Tent) (1977), “Boca de Ouro” (Gold Teeth), “El Justiceiro” (1967), “Fome de Amor” (Love Hungry) (1968), “Quem é Beta?”, “Who is Beta?” (1972), “Insônia” (Insomnia) (1980), “A Missa do Galo” (1982), “Memórias do Cárcere” (Memories from Jail) (1984), “Jubiabá” (1987), “A Terceira Margem do rio” (The Third Bank of the River) (1994), “Cinema e Lágrimas” (Cinema and Tears) (1995), and his newest – Brasília 18% (2006).

LIMA DUARTE ATOR | ACTOR – BRASIL | BRAZIL

ascido em Sacramento-MG, em 29 de março, Ariclenes Martins, mais conhecido como Lima Duarte, iniciou sua carreira como operador de som em Rádio. Sua primeira novela foi “Sua Vida

me Pertence” no ano de 1951, na extinta TV Tupi, um ano depois da inauguração da Televisão Brasileira, e a partir daí não parou mais. Ator renomado com mais de 50 anos de carreira em TV, Cinema e Teatro, participou do longa metragem “Eu, Tu, Eles” no ano de 2000, filme de sucesso inclusive internacional, participou também no ano de 2000 do longa metragem intitulado “Palavra e Utopia” interpretando o Padre Antonio Vieira, dirigido por Manoel de Oliveira, diretor consagrado na Europa. Recebeu em 2002 o título “Insígnia da Ordem do Mérito Cultural” concedida pelo Presidente da República, Sr. Fernando Henrique Cardoso, por sua relevante contribuição ao desenvolvimento da cultura do país. Born in Sacramento, Minas Gerais in March, 29, Ariclenes Martins, widely known as Lima Duarte, started his career as a Radio sound operator. His first soap opera was “Sua Vida me Pertence” (Your life belongs to me), in 1951, on the defunct TV Tupi, a year after the introduction of TV to Brazil. Since then, he has never stopped working. A renowned actor with more than a 50- year career on TV, Cinema and Theater, he took part, in the year 2000, in the filming of the Full Length “Eu Tu Eles” (Me You Them), a movie that has made

international success. In the same year, he also took the role of Priest Antonio Vieira, in the Full Length Film “Palavra e Utopia” (Word and Utopia), which was directed by Manoel de Oliveira, an established director in Europe. In 2002 he received, title “Insígnia da Ordem do Mérito Cultural”) -Emblem of the Order of Cultural Merit – granted him by the Brazilian President, Mr. Fernando Henrique Cardoso, for his relevant contribution to the country's cultural development.

or três décadas Matt Dillon vem exibindo seu vasto leque de talentos dramáticos e cômicos numa carreira bem sucedida. Mais recentemente exibiu sua versatilidade como ator em “CRASH – No Limite”, filme aclamado pela crítica e dirigido por Paul Haggis, onde, como co-estrela, interpretou brilhantemente o papel de um policial racista. Por esta interpretação foi nomeado para o Oscar, Golden Globo, Screen Actors Guild Award, Criticts Choice Award, prêmio BAFTA e ganhou o prêmio “Independent Spirit Award”. Além desses prêmios, ganhou também Screen Actors Guild Award e Critics Choice Award for Best Ensemble. Em seguida, Matt Dillon foi visto na comédia “Dois é Bom, Três é Demais”. Logo após, retratou o alter-ego de Charles Bukowski em “Factotum – Sem Destino” pelo qual recebeu críticas elogiosas quando o filme foi exibido em avant-première em Cannes. Tanto pelo seu brilhante desempenho em “Vidas sem Rumo” quanto por sua interpretação cômica como detetive particular obcecado em “Quem vai ficar com Mary?”, Matt Dillon tem provado ser um dos mais versáteis atores de sua geração. Em 1990, Dillon ganhou o prêmio “IFP Spirit Award” por seu desempenho como toxicômano em “Drugstore Cowboy” de Gus Van Sant. Seus multi-talentos o levaram a estrelar “The Boys of Winter”, musical da Broadway. Também atuou na “The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters”, produzida pela PBS/American Playhouse.

Matt Dillon’s successful film career has spanned over three decades and has showcased his wide range of dramatic and comedic talents. He most recently displayed his versatility with an arresting performance co-starring as a racist cop in the critically acclaimed Paul Haggis film “CRASH”. This role earned him nominations for an Academy award, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Critics Choice Award, a BAFTA award and won him an Independent Spirit Award. In addition, the film earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Critics Choice Award for Best Ensemble. He will next be seen in the comedy, “YOU, ME AND DUPREE”. Affectionately known as “Kersh” by his admirers and friends, Irvin Kershner’s background is a mixture of music and art. He attended Temple University – Tyler School of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Later, he went to New York and Provincetown to study with the famous painting teacher Hans Hofmann. He then moved to Los Angeles where he studied photography and design at the Art Center College of Design. He began his film career at the USC – School of Cinema teaching photography and taking cinema courses under Slavko Vorkapich, the great montage artist. He then accepted a job as photographer on a State Department film project in Iran under the Four Point Program which ultimately led to an assignment as a director and cinematographer of documentaries in Iran, Greece and Turkey with the United States Information Service. When he returned to the States,

he developed CONFIDENTIAL FILE, a documentary television series. He later developed and directed the television series THE REBEL, as well as the pilots for PEYTON PLACE, CAIN’S ONE HUNDRED, PHILIP MARLOWE, and SEAQUEST. He filmed STAKEOUT ON DOPE STREET independently and when it was bought by Warner Bros, he was on his way. Some of his best known films are THE HOODLUM PRIEST which starred Don Murray, THE LUCK OF GINGER COFFEY with Robert Shaw and Mary Ure, A FINE MADNESS, showcasing the talents of Sean Connery, Joanne Woodward and Jean Seberg, THE FLIM FLAM MAN starring George C. Inspirado na história verídica da equipe encarregada em construir a estrada que ligaria a nova capital à Fortaleza, capital do estado do Ceará, distante mais de dois mil quilômetros. A construction crew is abandoned in a remote, desert-like, uninhabited and unexplored region of central Brazil due to a sudden change in government during the Sixties. The story is set against the backdrop of the inauguration of Brasilia and its integration into the rest of the country by means of a daring road building program. Inspired by the true story of the construction crew in charge of linking the new capital to Fortaleza, the capital of the State of Ceará more than two thousand kilometers away.

Mostra então a grande influência que turistas têm sobre a vida de seus moradores, e a diferença entre a maneira como os turistas os idealizam e a realidade filmada. A chegada de estrangeiros ao povoado cria novas opções para auto-realização que não são compatíveis com as possibilidades econômicas e sociais de seus moradores. “Cats” deals with the mutual influence of two cultures and follows four young Brazilians from a village that was just recently discovered by tourists. It shows the immense influence that tourists have over the lives of locals, and the difference between the way tourists conceive locals and the reality that is filmed. The arrival of foreigners to the village has created a new variety of options for self-fulfillment that doesn’t go hand in hand with the economic and social possibilities of the locals.

Today the Maasaï culture, closely entwined with pastoralism is disappearing.

A enorme estátua do Cristo Redentor, olhando do Corcovado para a baía do Rio de Janeiro, tornou-se o ícone da cidade. O arquiteto Heitor da Silva Costa levou dez anos para planejar e construir o monumento de 38 metros de altura. Entregou ao escultor francês, Paul Landowski, a fabricação das mãos e do rosto da estátua em tamanho real. Hoje, esta estátua tornou-se parte integral do cotidiano dos cariocas que alimentam uma simpatia única por ela. The giant statue of the Christ the Redeemer, overlooking the bay of Rio de Janeiro from the Corcovado hill, has become the city’s icon. The architect Heitor da Silva Costa took ten years planning and building the 38 m high monument. He entrusted the French sculptor Paul Landowski with the making of the statue’s real size hands and face. Today, this statue has become an integral part of the everyday lives of the Cariocas who nurture unique sympathy for the statue.

This tale relates the adventures of all creatures in the vegetable plot of the Aublanc family, located in the heart of the Brittany farmland. A tacit agreement is sealed off: humans avoid the use of chemical insecticides to eat healthy and to prevent ground pollution. In exchange, they are assisted in their tasks by horticulturist assistants. Some lend a hand to the reproduction of plants; others conduct a relentless war against animal enemies of plants.

He is the Author of “País de São Saruê” (São Saruê Country), which was interdicted by censorship for nine years, and was only liberated in the Amnesty of 1979. As president of the Brazilian Association of Documentary Filmmakers, Federal District Section, he conceived and carried out the presentation of the First Brasileinse Film Festival, which obtained wide acclaim, stimulating film production, and gathering together in Brasília, important personalities of the Brazilian Cinema industry, among whom, his former pupil Tizuka Yamazaki. Carvalho was a member of the Cinema Cooperative of Rio de Janeiro, and belongs to the Consultanting Council of the Brazilian Cinema Collection of São Paul He is a member of the Brazilian Association of Documentary Filmmakers, the Brasiliense Association of Cinema and Video of the Brazilian Association of Filmmakers. He was founding counselor of the Cinema and Video Pole of the Federal District..In 1987 he coordinated the Entrance Exams for the School of Cinema and Video of Cuba, which were carried on at the University of Brasilia. Almost all of his films were worthy of prizes and special mentions, and he is the winner of three “Margarida de Prata Awards”, granted by CNBB for the films Pedra da Riqueza (Stone of Wealth), the Gospel According Teotônio, and Old War Countrymen. He has two books published with the screenplays and criticisms of his films O Pais de São Saruê (São Saruê Country) , and Old War Countrymen. In 2002 he finished one more full length film, Barra 68, about political events which took place in Brasilia during the '60's, the first one dealing with his University and the other with the National Congress, culminating with the promulgation of the Institutional Act #5, AI 5. He recently released Cinema Candango-matéria de Jornal, which deals with movies made in Brasilia. He is presently preparing the release, through his Vertovisão, of a film on the life and work of José Lins do Rego, titled O Engenho de Zé Lins.

Quase todos os seus filmes foram alvo de prêmios e distinções, sendo detentor de três Margaridas de Prata, outorgadas pela CNBB aos filmes Pedra da Riqueza e O Evangelho Segundo Teotônio e Conterrâneos Velhos de Guerra. Tem publicados dois livros com os roteiros e as críticas dos seus filmes O País de São Saruê e Conterrâneos Velhos de Guerra. Lana goes out for a walk with her dog and on her way back home, she is hit by a car. After the accident, she notices that she is being followed by a bus.. O Som da Luz do Trovão trata da engenhosidade de Evangelista Ignácio de Oliveira. Natural de Serra Talhada, alto sertão de Pernambuco. Desde os anos 60, ele cria e adapta máquinas e instrumentos de gêneros variados: uma Asa Delta, uma câmera 35mm, armas de fogo em forma de bengala, isqueiro ou torneira e uma boneca metálica feita com sucatas de rádios e televisores. Além das invenções, o cientista Vanja teoriza sobre o universo e os astros, defendendo idéias originais e inusitadas. The sound of the Light of Thunder deals with the inginiosity of Evangelista Ignácio de Oliveira. He is a native of Serra Talhada, high in the backlands of Pernambuco. Since the 60’s, he has been inventing and adapting machines and instruments of a variety of genders: a Delta Wind Sail, a 35mm camera, firearms in the shape of a cane, a lighter or a faucet and a metal doll made of scraps from radio and television sets. Besides these inventions the Vanja scientist theorizes on the universe, the stars, defending unheard of ideas.

Within this context, there appears an unmeasurable, sublime falling in love which is obsessive and inundates our character changing his perspective on life.

Mesmo assim, esse tipo de anestesia começa a parar de fazer efeito e Marcelo passa a questionar seu comportamento. É assim que o “nerd” decide se transformar em um super-herói e combater o crime. O que parecia um simples devaneio, acaba dando certo e o novo herói passa a ser conhecido por toda a cidade. Porém, assim como no mundo dos quadrinhos, a realidade também guarda os mistérios e as revelações para as últimas páginas. Marcelo Osíres Carvalho is a timid and difficult to relate with young man of 30... His great hobby are the comic strips and on diving into this universe Marcelo runs away from the world he lives in, where everything is more difficult to come about .Without the fantasy brought by the strips, the dull life of Marcelo wouldn’t be bearable. Even so, this kind of anaesthetic begins to lose its effect and Marcelo begins to question his behaviour. That’s when the “nerd” decides to become a super hero and fight crime... What seemed like a simple daydream, winds up working out and the new hero begins to be known by everyone in town. However, just as in he strip world, reality also keeps its misteries and the revelations for the last pages.

What drives free women to look for a love relationship with a prisoner? And how is the period of waiting for the wives who are sentenced along with their husbands, only they are outside the penitentiary, instead. Intimate Visitation is a film which shows embarrassment, privation and the consequences for these options of love under very special conditions.

O Governo do Estado / Secretaria de Cultura, com o apoio da Link Digital por ocasião do Amazonas Film Festival – 3.º Mundial do Filme de Aventura, lançam este ano o concurso Amazonas de Roteiro para Produção de CurtaMetragem 35mm, com o objetivo de incentivar o desenvolvimento do pólo de cinema local e atender a demanda dos novos realizadores.

The Amazonas Government / State Secretary of Culture with support of Link Digital for occasion of the Amazonas Film Festival – Third Adventure Fillm Festival, this year presents the Amazonas Screenplay competition for a short-film, 35mm, as an incentive for the development of a local cinema pole, which will attend to the demands of our new filmmakers.

A premiação inclui, além de verba de apoio à produção do filme, a transferência do formato digital para o de película 35mm.

The competition, which had 18 works as candidates, range within the areas of fiction, experimental cinema, and documentary, and it is aimed exclusively for Amazonas citizens or residents of Amazonas for longer than three years.

O concurso, que teve 18 obras inscritas, abrange as modalidades ficção, experimental e documentário, e destina-se exclusivamente a amazonenses ou aqueles que residem no Amazonas há mais de três anos. O vencedor será anunciado no dia 16 de novembro, no encerramento do Festival, e o curta-metragem produzido será exibido na 4.ª edição do Amazonas Film Festival em 2007

The winner will be announced on the 16th of November, during the closing of the Festival. The winning short film will be shown during the 4th edition of the Amazonas Film Festival, 2007.

Esta peça batizada como Vôo na Floresta foi desenvolvida em 2006 especialmente para o AMAZONAS FILM FESTIVAL pela escultora Sara Rosenberg, inspirada na beleza do vôo das aves amazônicas. O material utilizado para sua concepção foi o alumínio reciclado e reciclável, sobre base de madeira amazônica de origem sustentável. O protótipo deste objeto foi modelado em argila. A partir do modelo, fez-se um molde que foi preenchido com alumínio líquido incandescente, uma técnica milenar já usada pelos antigos gregos. Dimensões: Largura 29,5cm, Altura 35 cm Peso: Aproximadamente 900 gramas

This piece of work was baptized Flight over the Forest, and was especially created in 2006, for the AMAZONAS FILM FESTIVAL by sculptor Sara Rosenberg, inspired by the beauty of the flight of Amazonas’ birds. The material used for its concept was recycled and recycling aluminum, on a base of Amazon wood of sustainable origin. The prototype of this object was modeled in clay. From the model, a casting mould was filled with incandescent liquid aluminum, a technique used by the early Greeks thousands of years ago. Coronel Januário candidata-se a prefeito da cidade. Maria Fausta, afilhada do coronel, é cortejada por Galdino, acordeonista da região, mas namora João do Carmo às escondidas do pai. Carmem, filha adotiva de um milionário mineiro, sofre uma desilusão amorosa ao ver seu namorado beijando sua irmã, e tenta o suicídio. É salva por dois jovens que a recolhem a uma fazenda e se apaixonam por ela. Após encontro com sua irmã e seu ex-namorado, Carmem os perdoa e aceita o pedido de casamento de um dos jovens.

Colonel Januário becomes a candadite for Mayor of Town. Maria Fausta, the Colonel’s goddaughter, is courted by Galdino, a regional accordionist, however, on the sly, she goes with João do Carmo. During the electoral campaign the girl disappears from sight. After intense search Galdino finds her next to her boyfriend, at a hiding place arranged for them by their godparents. The couple returns and the Colonel attends to the wedding. During the feast he notices the absence of Galdino, who had left the place. According to the legend of the region, whoever goes by a cane tree plantation can hear him singing and playing his accordion, longing for the love of the girl.

Captain Corisco, alias Diabo Louro (Blond Devil), reputed for his cruelty, bravery and good looks, kidnaps Dadá, when she was 12 years old, and forces her into the difficult life of a backlands robber gang. From that time on, Corisco’s life is changed. Corisco is a person sentenced by God and his destiny is that of washing with blood the sins of the world. Dadá, who hated Corisco at first, notices that the companionship they shared, amidst struggles and difficulties, has changed into love. Dadá’s love is responsible for humanizing Corisco’s ways and that determines the story of his new life. This film is the story of an impossible love Affair. A tragic and fascinating vision of the backlands dweller.

Uma torneira deixa cair uma gota de água a cada segundo. A oitava gota é um dramático exemplo como o ser humano pode morrer tão facilmente.

Dois simpáticos personagens se envolvem em uma batalha utilizando a água como arma, a diversão termina quando resta apenas uma gota de água.

A água é servida em uma jarra de vidro, seguida de dois cubos de gelo que representam os pólos terrestres. Depois, a jarra fica meia vazia. Finalmente, tal jarra fica totalmente sem água.

Valorizar e cuidar a água, porque ela está acabando.

Este filme apresenta um curioso incidente no qual um homem de meia idade tenta desesperadamente recuperar seu guarda-chuva perdido no meio de um temporal. Ao presenciar esta cena, as outras pessoas na rua seguem seu exemplo, cada uma de sua maneira.

A faucet lets a drop of water run at every second. The eighth drop is a dramatic example of how a human being may die so easily.

Conservation and moderate use of water.

Two friendly characters get involved in a duel using water as an arm. The amusement ends when only one drop of water is left.

Water is served in a glass jar, then two cubes of ice, representing the terrestrial poles are then served. Later, the jar comes half-full and, finally, it becomes totally without water.

To prize and care for our water, since it is coming to an end.

This film presents a curious incident in which a middleaged man desperately tries to recover an umbrella he had lost in the middle of a storm. Upon watching this scene, the other people on the street follow his example, each to his/her own manner.

In order to do that he kidnaps Dona Tude, a mysterious woman who is the greatest storyteller in the world, in order to “rob” everything she keeps in her mind. A group of children face the greatest dangers of sea and forest in order to reach Rapaterra’s island and save Dona Tude. Thus they live through a great challenge: that of protecting and saving one of the richest regions of biodiversity in Brazil – the coastline of São Paulo.

After his father’s murder in Bahia, a boy has his body protected from death at an umbanda ritual center.. As a grownup, he works for a powerful bicheiro (numbers’ game dealer), in Caxias, Rio. There, he has to deal with death, crime and seduction. He gets involved with the bicheiro’s lover and is doomed to death. Ogun’s amulet then becomes his protector.
