“Never doubt that a small group of people can change the world. Margaret Mead

Cultivate, at it’s core, is a team of people passionate about both wine and cultivating life. We started with no formal business plan, but rather, shared dreams and values and a collection of passions and talents. Our first official gathering as a company was seven friends sitting around Ali and Charles’s dining table, throwing hundreds of sticky notes up on the wall, trying to figure out how we’d make those dreams a reality-defining roles, assigning tasks, and setting priorities. Jim Collins, author of Good to Great, said if you have more than three priorities, then you don’t have any. So we whittled it down to these three: 1. make high-quality wine at an approachable price point how: don’t own land-- instead, source juice from all over the world 2. to create a business model that gives back how: give away 10% of sales to non-profits-- right off the top, even before payroll 3. to be a part of what is good in the world how: join (and further) the movement of socially responsible businesses

WHY? “When you walk with purpose, you collide with destiny. Bertice Berry

WHY? To give money, and in doing so, share what has been given to us.

To give opportunities for people to get together and connect. After all, life is better when it’s shared.

To encourage people to express themselves by buying from companies that are aligned with their own personal values.

WHY? To inspire people to seek out and create purpose in their own lives.

To provide a model of a successful, for-profit, socially responsible business, and (hopefully) encourage others to do so.

HOW? To provide a model of a successful, for-profit, socially responsible business, and (hopefully) encourage others to do so. Exceptional Quality With our history and network, we can make delicious and approachable wines. Charles and Andy wouldn’t put their names on it if it wasn’t great.

HOW? To provide a model of a successful, for-profit, socially responsible business, and (hopefully) encourage others to do so. An International Wine Adventure Unlike beer, wine is about always wanting to try new things. Because we don’t own land, we will continuously source new juice from around the world and keep the adventure alive.

HOW? To provide a model of a successful, for-profit, socially responsible business, and (hopefully) encourage Removing the others intimidation to do from so. buying wine Buying wine for the average consumer is intimidating and somewhat of a gamble— a decision is made on color, pricepoint, and label. Cultivate will take the guess work out of choosing wine by acting like a wine “curator.” Buyers can look at the Cultivate logo as a “seal of approval” they can trust, and then they can confidently and continuously try new wines that Cultivate introduces from around the world.
