Handmade Toys
My work is about creating icons out of the small or ordinary subjects usually found in nature. Through the use of drawing, painting, and photography, I “collect” these specimens and keep visual journals of my observations. Over time a visual language is developed to be used repeatedly throughout my work.

I make puppets for children and adults. I use 100% cotton socks that I dye in subtlety mixed colors. I add details- ears, hair, eyes, horns- out of felted wool. I draft all of my own patterns for a totally unique puppet.
