At CUC your spiritual life doesn’t stop when chapel ends—it’s whatever you do here and whoever you’re with. It’s all part of your life as a Christian. CUC has taught me a lot about that. Even in the parts of the University that aren’t spiritual, they do a really good job of teaching spiritual ideas—like servitude, love, and being there for other people.”

50+ MAJORS

What’s nice about taking business management as a major is that it’s not just business management, you also have to study business core classes like accounting and marketing. I’ve also noticed that our professors are very experienced. Their lessons are practical and taken from the real world. We see examples of actual companies—this is a huge help for the future.”

Making a difference

through service

As a Christian institution, we value providing you with a well-rounded education by focusing on strong academics, faith and giving back to the community.

As for service, I try to do one thing a month. I do it because I’ve been so fortunate to grow up with the support of my mom. Some people aren’t fortunate enough to have clothes, a cell phone or even money. It’s a good opportunity to take a moment and be grateful for what you have.”

Performing in

harmony Music is a long-standing tradition at Concordia University Chicago. The size and quality of our programs, faculty, facilities and ensembles exceed those of many other universities of comparable size.

“ Anthony Howard '21 music education major, Chicago, IL

8

Concordia University Chicago

Our professors go beyond the music. They dive deeper. For example, in my conducting class and the music ensembles I’m part of, there’s a lot of talk about feelings and emotions and storytelling. I think it’s an experience that most schools don’t really go for.”

Accreditation:

National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)

I chose the Director of Christian Education program because I’m not only able to help educate people for tomorrow, for a test or a quiz, but I am also able to help them see the light of Christ, then guide them as they follow that light into eternity.”

As a homeschooler, the social part of transitioning to college was hard at first. Having a roommate and being on a floor with 30 girls... that was different. It was just new, but I really liked it. It helped me realize the more extroverted parts of my personality.”

We’ve done a lot since I’ve been here and broken a lot of records. We compete everywhere in the Midwest. It’s really made my college experience enjoyable and helps me with multi-tasking.”

I really liked all of the opportunities that I got with the music program at CUC, such as touring with the Wind Symphony. We performed at Carnegie Hall. It was a dream venue that I would never have experienced if I weren’t in the group. I also enjoyed the smaller class sizes that allowed you to get to know your professors and receive individualized help.”
