Welcome to Coach Touring The Directory 2024 As we bid farewell to another year, it's undeniable that 2023 was an eventful one. And as we gaze into 2024, if it's anything like this past year, coach operators and suppliers should brace themselves for both hurdles and prospects.

Given the rise of "The Staycation" or domestic tourism, it remains to be seen if Britons will prefer local holidays over international ones we feature some exciting destinations in Flanders a favourite with groups. Economic volatility and less favorable exchange rates typically make many opt for the familiar. This could potentially be a boon for our local attractions and accommodations. Coach travel is gaining momentum and for good reasons. Beyond the leisure of the journey, advancements in coach technology, especially in air filtration, offering enhanced air quality for passengers. With escalating fuel prices seeming to have stabilised for now, coaches still have the multi-seat efficiency which translates to cost-effective fares, giving it an edge. Considering the rising costs in air travel and the airport hassles many encountered in 2023, it's no wonder many are pivoting to coach travel. We hope this guide will be an invaluable source of inspiration, be it day trips or extended trips. We welcome any feedback on its contents. The Coach Touring team will be present at several trade fairs next year. Do drop by our stand for a conversation and share your insights about the sector and its trajectory. Nigel

growth within the industry. The association also plays a significant role in building relationships with other trade bodies and tourist organizations. It maintains close ties with the Home Nations Tourists Boards, the Association of Group Travel Organisers, the European Tour Operators Association, and the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT). Additionally, the CTA is a founder member of the European Alliance for Coach Tourism and a member of the Tourism Alliance.

The Coach Tourism Association (CTA) is a pivotal organization in the coach tourism industry, established 30 years ago with the goal of uniting the industry and promoting travel and tourism by coach. As of now, the CTA boasts a membership of over 300, comprising nearly equal parts of coach tour operators tour wholesalers, and industry supporters. These supporters play a crucial role in creating the coach tourism package and include hotel groups, tourist boards, major visitor attractions, ticket agencies, ferry operators, professional advisers, and B2B companies.

Governance of the CTA is overseen by an elected Board of Directors, representing a diverse cross-section of the membership. These directors are elected for a three-year term by the membership, reflecting the democratic and member-focused nature of the organization. The current Chair of the CTA is Robert Shaw, director of Harry Shaw/City Cruiser. The board members come from various sectors of the industry, including coach operators, travel agencies, and hotel groups, ensuring a wide representation of interests and perspectives within the association. This broad membership base and the active involvement in both domestic and international tourism circles position the Coach Tourism Association as a central figure in promoting and shaping the future of coach tourism in the UK and beyond.

The CTA is unique in its role as the only UK-wide organization that actively promotes coach tourism, delivering significant benefits to both operators and suppliers. For coach operators, benefits include access to the consumer website welovecoaches.com, insights into emerging trends, early notice of new opportunities, and the use of the CTA logo as a mark of trust and endorsement. Suppliers gain from opportunities to develop personal relationships and grow business with operators through workshops, member events, and fam trips. Participation in CTA events is a key avenue for networking and business

The In Flanders Fields Museum, situated in Ypres' historic Cloth Hall, offers a poignant look into the First World War's impact on the West Flanders front. This venue, a symbol of wartime resilience, highlights the landscape as a witness to the war's history. Focused on the human aspects of war, it presents a range of authentic artifacts and images, narrating World War I from varied perspectives – soldiers, civilians, men, women, adults, and children alike.

The museum engages visitors in the lasting effects of The Great War, emphasizing its present-day significance. Its multidimensional approach caters to all ages, facilitating a deep connection with those who lived through the war. The biggest city in Europe has something for everyone. It may not be the easiest place to navigate, but bring a party to London and they will never cease to thank you for your trouble. Take advantage of the extensive public transport system (only Londoners actually complain about it) and let your party alight at a convenient location, and let the underground train take the strain. With so much to take in, even the website weighs a ton. So sit comfortably and find that all of London's attractions can be reviewed at www.visitlondon.com

Wales Situated on the western shores of Great Britain, Wales has three National Parks (including the only coastal national park in the UK), five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and only three million people! And there is more: two languages, over 400 castles, the largest impressionist art collection outside of Paris and a landscape that offers opportunities for all kinds of activities such as walking, cycling, climbing, golf, mountain biking, watersports and paragliding for the adventurous.
