SCHOOL LIFE
The first goal of our school is to live and teach the Catholic doctrines of Jesus Christ. In addition to the Religion curriculum, Christ the King Catholic School focuses many aspects of our Catholic faith.
Confirmation Many of our Catholic students prepare for Confirmation during their 8th grade year. In addition to Sunday night classes, which involves small groups, speakers and one-on-one instruction, students also complete service hours in preparation for Confirmation.
First Holy Communion Our 2nd grade students also prepare for a special sacrament, First Holy Communion. Second graders receive instruction during class in preparation for this sacrament. Our 2nd and 8th grade students plan activities together throughout the year through our Guardian Angel program.
All School Mass Students, teachers and parents fill the church for All School Mass on Fridays. Students participate in many aspects of the mass, including singing in the choir, participating as a gift bearer and reader and serving as an usher. Students also pass our Vocations Chalice poster from one class to another each Friday. Students spend extra time in their class during the week to pray for vocations.

Christ the King Catholic School
Over 2500 service hours are completed by 7th and 8th graders each year.
Once a month, students participate in the “I Can” Feed the Poor program by bringing food and supplies for local food pantries.
The Easter Can Drive also helps local food pantries by replenishing their shelves during a time of the year when food begins dwindling. Last year students brought in 3,237 cans!
School families participate in the church’s Giving Tree program. Students and families fill the Family Life Center with coats, shoes, clothes and toys for families in need.
Sixth graders collect pop tabs to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Students at All School Mass participate in tithing. At the end of the school year the 8th grade class officers choose an organization or charity to donate the funds collected. Funds have been donated to other Catholic schools, tornado relief funds and Catholic charities.
Jr. High students assemble over 160 “Birthday Bags” for Helping Hand every year. “Birthday Bags” include cake mix, frosting, candles and a card.
Students and parents collect soaps and lotions while traveling and staying in hotels to be used to assemble toiletry bags for the homeless.
