Head Diving Coach - Seventh Year - Colorado State ‘93 Contact Information: kevin.witt@colostate.edu; 970/491-7242 The Rams diving program again will be under the direction of seventh-year head coach Kevin Witt. Over his six seasons at Colorado State, Witt has tutored divers who have made the finals in every event of the Mountain West championships. What’s more, his CSU divers have qualified for and finaled at the NCAA Zone E competitions, and have been very competitive at dual meets since the 2005-

06 campaign. Witt is no stranger to coaching, serving 10 years as the head diving coach for the Poudre School District. In that role, Witt was in charge of managing the training and competitions for 20-25 athletes from Fort Collins, Rocky Mountain, Poudre and Fossil Ridge high schools each season. He coached both the men’s and women’s seasons, as well as handling the supervision and training throughout the year. In addition to his responsibilities as CSU’s head diving coach, Witt continues to manage the Fort Collins Diving Club. He is the owner and operator of a private, United States Diving Member Club age-group team. His responsibilities as head diving coach and owner include all coaching duties involving weight training, conditioning and year-round training and competitions. Witt has already shown his value as a head coach and leader. Under his supervision the Poudre School District and the Fort Collins Diving Club have produced over 50 high school state finalists, 17 Colorado High School State Champions, 14 National Interscholastic high school All-Americans, one National Interscholastic High School national champion, and multiple zone and national Junior Olympic qualifiers, as well as one Junior Olympic national 1-meter champion and two AAU National Champion on both the 1 Kevin Witt

and 3-meter springboards. Over 26 of the athletes that have participated with the Poudre School District or with the Fort Collins Diving Club have gone on to dive at NCAA Division I or Division II pograms across the country. Several of those athletes have earned varying degrees of athletic scholarships as well. The Colorado High School Swim Coaches Association named Witt its Coach of the Year four times. He’s also earned the Colorado Girls 4A Diving Coach of the Year (2000), the Colorado Girls 5A Diving Coach of the Year (200102), the Colorado Boys 5A Diving Coach of the Year (2002), and Colorado Girls 5A Diving Coach of the Year (2004-05). Witt graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Colorado State in 1993. He went on to receive his master of arts degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2000.
