At the September Chapter Meeting, the first of this new Fiscal Year, Bill Roper from National Gypsum presented "What's the Deal with Roof Cover Boards?" Various reasons for using cover boards in lowslope roofing assemblies were discussed. An important takeaway: NRCA, the National Roofing Contractors Association, "recommends that designers specify a suitable cover board over polyisocyanurate insulation in all low-slope membrane roof systems." Awards Received at CSI Annual Convention & CONSTRUCT The CSI Annual Convention and CONSTRUCT trade show was held September 7 through 9 in Austin, Texas. As part of the Convention, Honors and Awards were presented. Denver's own Ann Baker received a wonderful surprise honor, a President's Plaque, from the Immediate Past President of the Institute, Lane Beougher. The honor was given for Ann's dedication to her work on the Institute Certification Committee during a difficult transitional time for the Institute. The Denver Chapter of CSI received an award - the Outstanding Chapter Commendation, which the Chapter has also received in the past. The Denver Chapter is at the Silver Level, a designation that indicates that Denver has won this award at least 10 times.
