Hey Crystal! My name is Grisel Meza & I'm Ruby’s LTG. I'm 16 & attend Ridgeview High School. I've been in KIWIN'S for about a year now, & it's been pretty incredible. I can't wait for this up coming year! I love taking pictures & I'm very much obsessed with pigs. A fun fact about me is that if I laugh in the deep end of the pool, I drown. Thanks! See you later Polar Bears!

Stand Up 2 Cancer Fashion Show

UCLA CS

We didn't have any events posted up for May/June, since May was our "KIWINS what to do better next time" kind of thing, and we, students were getting ready for Finals and by June 4th we departed to Summer after finishing Finals. So I present to you the Stand Up 2 Cancer Fashion Show that KIWINS supported on April 24th of 2015, we joined together with a group called Stand Up 2 Cancer to sell tickets to people who would like to see the Fashion Show, even attend. The money went to a foundation for Cancer. This was a pretty successful event that helped out fight for Cancer, and we hope that we can continue to support other groups to success while we continue to help the world, and hopefully to build up UCLA-CS' KIWINS group!

FAIRFAX SENIOR HIGH

Senior Class of 2015 Grams The Class of 2015 had many friends and classmates that will be greatly be missed. And so the KIWIN'S club at LACES decided to do a fundraiser, allowing people throughout the whole school to buy grams for the seniors. The grams contained candy and a personal message you wanted to say to the senior of your choice. We spread the word throughout the whole school, from going to different classrooms, to making announcements in the morning. With the money we earned, we hope to pay off enrollment dues so that people will be more willing to join the club. We really hope that in the following school year, our LACES KIWIN'S family will grow and attract more people.

Esther Yom is a fantastic member! She always came to the divisional events and I have never seen her miss one. Esther is now the secretary for LACES KIWIN’S and she is always in contact with me, turns in her work on time, and asks questions when needed. I look forward to working with you!

Milk Tea Boba Fundraiser Members of Fairfax KIWIN’S held a fundraiser where we sold refreshing milk tea boba at our school. There was lots of screaming, laughter, and this event helped our club promote our club. Our officers and members bonded from this event , which was very nice. At the end of the boba fundraiser, we earned $72!.

Andrew Choi is an outstanding president! So far, he has shown me great leadership skills and diligence in his work. Andrew always does his work earlier than usual and already made plans for the year for his club. He is always asking me questions or advice to make sure that he is making the right decisions for his club.

FAIRFAX SENIOR HIGH MEMBER OF THE MONTH ERIC LEUNG

Uni Gras

FAIRFAX SENIOR HIGH Eric Leung always helped me in my events. He came to the divisional events as much as possible and gave assistance to the newer members if they needed it. Eric also recruited a lot of members for the new and old KIWIN’S. I am very proud to have him in my division.

Uni gras is a end of the year activity that serves to raise funds for the various clubs on campus. The main purpose of the event is for every club to set up booths and earn funds for each organization. KIWINS continued the tradition of korean bbq rice bowls and we were successful in selling out all our product. In addition to selling the main dishes, two members set up a festival game to add extra fun. All members of the leadership supported by sacrificing their time to set up and clean up the booth. This event helped mold our club into a more unified family of sorts. It also gave us an opportunity to test the leadership and cohesiveness of the newly elected officers. Uni Gra was an enjoyable time for everyone.

ALOHA FROM SENA! Hello Crystal! I just wanted to share my summer with you so that you all know what I am doing for the summer :). During summer, I will be mainly working and attending SAT prep classes (yay… how fun). A lot of people ask me where I work and I work at Cedar Sinai Medical Center! I mostly do a lot of clerical work so filing, sorting papers, etc. I do not perform surgeries or see patients because I would probably kill them haha... I will also be working in a lab for stem cell research, which I am very excited for! Other than that, I will probably spend my time doing things for KIWIN’S, go to the gym, or play video games. If you need any help or just want to chat, feel free to go ahead and contact me! I will always have time for you guys. I love you all! Sena Ji

ADVICE FROM SENA! Officers, congrats on pulling through the first month of your term! Here are some advice for the summer. 1. Don’t procrastinate! Always do things a few days before the deadline. 2. Do your tasks little by little! Don’t overwhelm yourself! 3. Always have fun and enjoy yourself! Have some rest and recover from school. 4. Use the summer time to plan out the year. 5. Get to know your officers and members! Hold a bunch of events to get to know each other :). It’s never too late!
