A World of New Discoveries Relaxing and enriching – a Voyages of Discovery cruise is a world away from the mainstream. Voyages of Discovery cruises are meticulously planned affording more time in port so that you have ample time to explore and really get to the heart of a destination. With a maximum of just 650 like-minded passengers to keep you company, you can avoid the crowds associated with larger ships, and return home with new friends and memories that will last a lifetime. Small enough to reach out-of-theway ports, yet large enough to make light work of crossing the great oceans, mv Discovery and mv Voyager avoid the excesses of today’s mega-liners. Instead they have been expressly conceived for this special brand of discovery cruising to create an atmosphere on board that is friendly and relaxed.

• Comprehensive programme of informative talks by port lecturers and guest speakers • Free parking at Portsmouth or Harwich (worth up to £192) or selected coach transfers to the port, where applicable • Flights to and from your cruise where applicable, including tax, baggage and all other charges • All on board gratuities (other cruise lines add up to £253 per couple per fortnight to the bill) • All service charges (other cruise lines add up to 18% to your bill for drinks, spa treatments, etc) • All port and pre-paid airport taxes

All service charges are included

Keen hikers can join special guided walks through stunning Icelandic and British landscapes. A Footloose guide will be on board during these cruises to lead hikes, as well as answer any questions.

Footloose available on: ‘Nordic Natural Wonders’ and ‘Around Britain & Edinburgh Tattoo’

A Voyages of Discovery cruise offers so much more for the discerning traveller, as well as great value for money.

What to Wear By Day

As a general rule, for days on board and ashore, comfy and casual is the order of the day. Bear in mind, in certain countries, shorts, short skirts, bare arms and shoulders will not be appreciated locally so be sure to pack a pullover/cardigan and long trousers/long skirts. For trips ashore sturdy footwear is recommended. You may also want to bring with you a camera, binoculars, umbrella, sun hat and insect repellent.

Relaxing & Enriching See the world with Voyages of Discovery and stimulate your mind in a comfortable and relaxing environment. Included in the price of your cruise, the unrivalled Guest Speaker programme is designed to enhance and enrich your cruise experience. Each of the highly-respected Guest Speakers is appointed for their depth of knowledge, understanding and passion for their subject and are drawn from the diplomatic service, academia, the military and the arts. They are all recognised authorities on a range of subjects most relevant to the places you visit and will offer you valuable insights into the history and cultures of the unusual ‘off the beaten track’ destinations. Each sailing with Voyages of Discovery features at least one Guest Lecturer and details of these can be found on the individual itineraries throughout this brochure.

By Night

In the evening, passengers may wish to dress in ‘black tie’ and evening dresses for formal nights such as the Captain’s Welcome Cocktail Party and Dinner, however, a lounge suit or blazer and tie are equally acceptable. On other evenings the dress code will be smart/casual, depending on the itinerary. Details will be given in the daily programme on board. Gentlemen are not permitted to wear shorts at evening dinner, only long trousers are acceptable. There is a semi-formal dress code for dining in the Yacht Club when gentlemen will be expected to wear a blazer/jacket.
