The brief called for the artistic fabric of this four-storey mixed-use building to be brought back to life. The most outstanding feature of the building is its showpiece façade, which fuses high art, photography and architecture by utilizing various textures and materials which flow seamlessly into each other. Interesting features inside include exposed satin finish, concrete ceilings and floors fashioned with the implementation of recycled formwork to create a raw- look finish. Unlike typical apartment projects, over 100 purchaser-led customisations were constructed resulting in each apartment being unique, individually designed and styled.

This project boasts four magnificent and innovative units with carefully planned layouts. The design brief required modern simple lines, achieved through the clever use of darker bricks and VM Zinc cladding. Designed over two levels, these homes make use of the surroundings, with an abundance of natural light complementing the open-plan living space. Each of the three bedroom units is fitted with double-glazed windows to achieve a better energy rating. The first floor flooring has been constructed using 75mm Hebel Power flooring to provide better sound insulation between the levels.

This project required the construction of a four-unit apartment site with basement, which blends in with the surrounding established residential properties. The property offers medium-density living with style, combining the best amenities of a quality single-family home with a large, affordable apartment. The hallway flows towards the open-planned living area combining the minimalist modern kitchen with the living areas, large enough for the family to relax together. Generously sized bedrooms are positioned on the upper level, all feature built-in robes, the master suite showcasing a large robe and ensuite.

The construction of this two-storey, three-bedroom home involved using many different surface materials to create layering and texture for every area of the home. A spectacular reflection pond in the middle of the house, which is visible from all rooms on the ground floor, is an unexpected feature. Large pivoting and sliding glass doors allow this water feature to feel a part of each room. Also, a stunning transparent, temperaturecontrolled wine cellar on the ground floor exposes the client’s wine collection behind triple-glazed panels, and is especially appealing when lit up at night. The house is well fitted out with a high quality full joinery package.

The brief for this home called for demolition of an olderstyle rear addition, new layout of the existing dwelling and construction of a new two-storey addition. All materials used have been installed with the greatest skill to produce an extremely well built home, including the existing period features being brought back to life. The many different materials used added to the complexity of the project and raised the amount of attention and care required onsite to achieve the best possible result. A new swimming pool, landscaping and fencing adds interest to this exceptional home.

The clients required a kitchen displaying a clean, minimalistic modern look. Stone bench tops with waterfall sides, Miele appliances and sleek cabinetry with sharp lines are evident throughout this spacious kitchen. The mirror splashback is an amazing feature, which gives the illusion of even more space. The component of the kitchen that involved the most planning entailed the step-down in the overhead cupboards, carefully thought out to provide maximum storage.
