Innovative building techniques were utilised to effectively execute a design that encompasses everything to cater for an active modern family. A prime feature of the home is the internal living area with extensively large windows providing an excellent view of the surrounding landscape. This is also encouraged with the inclusion of a polished concrete floor with hydronic heating throughout, allowing for a mixture of warmth and natural colour. The main entrance boasts a large pivothinge door opening through to an area that invites you to the open-plan living area with very high ceilings and upper-level electric windows to allow for natural airflow on demand.
The materials and features incorporated from a designers perspective to emphasise the liveability and aesthetics of this home are also sustainable and minimise negative effects on the environment. These include thermalcapacity concrete walls and roof, ceiling installation and double-glazed windows that are not only eco-friendly choices but also create a minimalistic, contemporary design for the home. The symmetrical and angular design of the exterior is accentuated by a flat roof, which nestles perfectly with the existing streetscape. The timber flooring and carpet throughout the home provide occupants with both a robust and comfortable living environment. This expansive, open-plan design is an entertainer’s delight with a large pool and adjacent alfresco area.

The vision was to create an affordable high quality architecturally designed family home that took into consideration the orientation of the home and how it is situated on the block. Accommodation includes three bedrooms plus parents retreat, two living areas and a small study. The entrance hall is joined to the main living area by a feature timber cad wall, which wraps around both areas and as a result combines the spaces together. Internally rooms can be separated by large concealed sliding doors, which have been acoustically treated allowing for better sound proofing and functional separation.
