ABOUT NABD The National Association of Building Designers: a National voice for Building Designers The National Association of Building Designers was formed in July 2013 by the Building Designers Association of Queensland (BDAQ) and the Building Designers Association of Victoria (BDAV), and welcomed the Building Designers Association of Western Australia (BDAWA), the Building Designers Association of South Australia (BDASA) and the Building Designers Association of the Northern Territory (BDANT) in successive months from March to May 2014. The Association unifies 85% of the nation’s building design association members.

About The NABD National Design Awards

As at September 2016, the NABD has over 2700 in the Association and represents 5 States / Territories.

The NABD National Design Awards is the flagship event for the National Association of Building Designers and has been developed to acknowledge the expertise, creativity and excellence of building designers nationwide.

Objectives

Nominations in the Awards competition will come from the individual State/Territory Award Winners/Commendations.

• To be the voice on national issues.

The Awards will be judged by an eminent panel of design professionals from across the country reflecting the importance of peer accolade for award winners.

• To promote and develop the profession of Building Design and advance the quality of the built environment. • To facilitate the exchange of information and foster continuing professional development.

To date, NABD is a collaboration of:

• To circulate information affecting the profession of Building Design, to print, publish, circulate such papers, periodicals, books, circulars and any other literary publications as may seem conducive to the objects of the Association.

• Building Designers Association of the Northern Territory

• To confer and enter into any discussions with any government, authority or industry.

• Building Designers Association of Victoria

• Building Designers Association of Queensland • Building Designers Association of South Australia

• Building Designers Association of Western Australia

• The Association will not affiliate with or support any sectarian body or political party.
