LUKE When I first got here, it instantly felt like I was at home. I recently changed my major to Youth and Family Ministry, and it’s been amazing. The professors made the transition easy — they all are well-established and great mentors, helping me through this whole college experience. I started TikTok when I got to Crown, not for the right reasons — just for getting “fame” or being popular. But a few months ago, I was praying and just felt like I needed to dedicate my TikTok to God. I posted a video about it, and it got 3.4 million views — I took that as a confirmation from God.

NORA I have the opportunity to not just be in a caring community but a community that fosters the same values and faith. There are so many different perspectives here from students and professors, and it creates so many opportunities to grow. Being at Crown makes you want to stay for the rest of your life. But being at Crown also gets you excited for what God is preparing you to do after college, too.

DANIEL I’m from the Congo, but I was in Chicago before coming to Minnesota. The culture is different, like really different — here, everybody smiles at you, and they want to talk to you and know more about you. I kind of like it!

crown.edu

LYNNEA The professors actually care about students. Like if I’m having a rough time or have a sports conflict, they show a lot of grace. I like that it’s a good campus to be an athlete, too, because a lot of students are in sports! I lead the Women’s Ministry, and I really like the opportunity to meet with other women and grow together. I just like that we get together and pray together; there’s something so wonderful about that. And that’s not just a women’s ministry thing — there are lots of other opportunities on campus where people get together to pray, and those have been some of my favorite moments at Crown.

All that we are is centered around one thing: Jesus. From the coffee shop crew to Crown's president, our staff and faculty are here to see you grow and go deeper in your relationship with Jesus. It doesn't matter if you are studying theology, nursing, film, teaching, or any other major; the focus remains the same. At Crown, we are defined by our commitment to make Jesus the foundation of everything we do.

DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHT

Programs designed for the times. A message from Professor Ken Castor.

crown.edu/next-gen crown.edu

The world is in upheaval. People are nervous about the future. Parents are worried about their children. Problems are proclaimed across headlines. Fear is posted across the internet. But there is some good news. God is not panicking! God is not anxious about the future because he has already set his plan in action through Jesus Christ. That’s what I love about Crown College. For over 100 years, we have pursued a calling to make His good work known to the world. Perhaps God is calling you to join us in this endeavor?! Our ministry degrees will give you a Jesusfocused, Biblically-grounded, resumebuilding, leader-networked, hands-on training for a lifelong career in ministry.

GLO WEEK The annual Global and Local Outreach Week (GLO Week) inspires students to reach out to our communities and share the gospel. The week holds tons of mission-focused events, speakers, and workshops. During this week, we pause classes to set apart time to connect to our missional roots and to refocus on our desire to go deeper into our global and cultural understandings. 9

THE CORE

CHAPEL

Every student who graduates with a Crown degree leaves with a fundamental understanding of the Bible. All Crownies take up to 24 Bible and theology credits, going deeper in their understanding of God's Word.

Our heart is for community — but not just any community. Together, we seek to experience life in God-glorifying ways in accordance to His will. So we set apart time to grow, to study, to pray, and to worship during our triweekly chapels. The content always revolves around being the body of Christ as one community of believers.

LIFE TOGETHER GROUPS

MENTORSHIP

Life was never meant to be done alone. And that’s why we set aside an hour every week to provide students with the chance to join in small groups where they can hold one another accountable, spur each other on toward love and good deeds, and gain insight from new perspectives.

Every student has the opportunity to be matched with a mentor during their time at Crown. We believe that mentorship is invaluable. This is the chance for you to learn from spiritually-mature leaders on campus. It's a defining experience at Crown.

The world doesn’t need people who simply finished their college degrees. They need people who are ready to influence the world — ready for whatever God calls them to be. As an institution, we look beyond academic excellence toward true preparedness, fusing theory with practice to produce students who are fully equipped.

CLUB HIGHLIGHT

crown.edu crown.edu /science

SCIENCE IS GOD’S EQUATION TO CREATION Science is not the enemy of faith but the exploration of God’s handiwork. Former Faith/Science Club president and now veterinary student Abbi Christensen explains, “God and science are synergistic. Meaning science actually allows you to deepen your faith through God’s creation because you begin to realize how complex and beautiful His design is. For me, this club was exploring faith on a deeper level.”

The Faith/Science Club serves three primary purposes: › To facilitate student exploration of areas around faith and science › To engage the Crown faith community, both within and beyond the department, in science-related activities › To build a sense of community in the Math and Science department

Dr. Aeisha Thomas, Ph.D. Dr. Thomas founded the Faith and Science Club alongside fellow educators as a part of a two-year program. The program is known as the Oxford Interdisciplinary Seminars in Science and Religion: Bridging the Two Cultures of Science and Humanities.

“We are very industry focused, always looking to see how we can take the theory we learn and integrate it into the real world. We are focused on innovative, cutting-edge cinematography and pushing the bounds of our creative potential. When our students graduate, they will be proficient in cinematography techniques, current styles, and the latest technology. With video's rapidly progressing technology, we give students the ability to work with high caliber tools — the same tools that professionals use. Mock Rock

Allen Film Fest

Escape Room

Join fellow students, faculty, and staff for one of the most anticipated nights of the year. This totally hilarious, lip-synced, choreographed, and fiercely competitive music madness is an annual highlight.

Lights, camera, film fest! Our students plan all year to showcase their beautiful stories at the Allen Film Fest. Named after one of the founding professors of the communication program, the Allen Film Fest is truly a night to remember.

Think you have what it takes? Each year, a new storyline and puzzle define the challenge for groups of students. Whether it is an old conspiracy theory or a sentient AI robot, you’ll be sure to have a great time attempting to escape the room.

STUDENTATHLETE: TIM WENDEL Athletes can change the world around them — not through incredible talent — but through leadership, work ethic, and a heart for service. In 2016, Tim Wendel stepped onto Crown’s campus, and his basketball career was unparalleled in Storm history. He won back-to-back UMAC

28

Player of the Year awards and scored over 2,000 points, the only player to accomplish either feat in the league’s NCAA era. But that’s not what makes Wendel special. The son of Christian & Missionary Alliance missionaries, he spent most of his childhood overseas both in Uruguay and

athletics.crown.edu crown.edu

Spain, and it was through their mission work he learned the heart of a servant. Wanting to serve his community, he graduated with a nursing degree. Nursing is a rigorous major to pair with an intense collegiate basketball career. Crown College Athletics allows student-athletes to

pursue their passion and make a difference, both on and off the court. Our coaches want to invest in you as a whole person. Play the sport you love at a place you will love.
