TOGETHER! KOMMUNEN, KOLLEKTIVE, KOOPERATIONEN Die von Lotte Schreiber kuratierte Programmsektion versammelt Dokumentarfilme, die ihren Blick auf unterschiedliche Modelle des gesellschaftlichen Zusammenlebens im Zusammenspiel mit Architektur richten. The program section Architecture and Society curated by Lotte Schreiber gathers documentaries that focus on different models of social coexistence in interaction with architecture.
Q „Der Mensch für sich allein vermag gar wenig und ist ein verlassener Robinson, nur in der Gemeinschaft mit den anderen ist und vermag er viel“, sprach einst der deutsche Philosoph Arthur Schopenhauer. In der Tat zieht sich gemeinschaftliches Handeln seit jeher durch die Entwicklung unserer Spezies. Gemeinschaft gilt als ursprünglichste Form des Zusammenlebens und bildet das Grundelement jeder Gesellschaft. Sie tritt in unzähligen Formen auf und definiert sich über ein starkes Zugehörigkeitsgefühl – zur Familie, zum Dorf, zu einer Religion. Vor diesem Hintergrund präsentiert sich bereits zum zwölften Mal die Programmsektion „Architektur und Gesellschaft“ in Kooperation mit dem afo architekturforum oberösterreich und versammelt vier Dokumentarfilme, die ihren Blick auf sehr unterschiedliche Modelle von

While in earlier times, communities tended to be more longlasting, and, in terms of securing one’s livelihood, arose from a certain necessity, far more liberal alliances can be found since the modern age. For about fifteen years now, it has been possible to detect a growing worldwide social movement promoting community and participation. Following the global financial crisis, there emerged an economy of sharing, enjoying ever greater popularity in the form of food co-operatives, car-sharing initiatives, or communal living projects. The twelfth edition of the program section Architecture and Society in co-operation with afo architekturforum oberösterreich takes this backdrop to bring together four documentary films that focus on very different models of community across Europe.
