May 2010 Dear Community Partners,
Long Beach Poly Football (LBPF) is a nonprofit organization providing a comprehensive program that fundamentally supports the Poly High School football player in the classroom and on football field. The LBPF program has achieved outstanding success over the past 100 years. Sports lllustrated named LB Poly the High school of the century for producing the most professional athletes than any other school in the nation. Our football program is one of the premier programs in the country. LBPF employs an Academic Coach utilizing the Play lt Smart Program of the National College Football Foundation. The Play lt Smart program brings extra attention to the player's off-thefield development. Specifically, facilitating academic support services, study halls, life skill sessions, community service opportunities, field trips to area colleges and other team building activities throughout the schoolyear. Recently funding for this amazing program was completely cut. We have made a commitment to providing funding for this program. We cannot do it alone. The budget strains this creates jeopardize our ability to support our kids in other areas. Our program strives to support the student-athlete through daily before practice nutrition, team meals before every game, breakfasts, lunches and snacks during summer practices. We also participate in a rigorous otf season strength and conditioning program where equipment is needed to train properly. Annually our football program serves approximately 250 studentathletes. Our goal is to comprehensively support these young men. We need the support of community partners in order to raise funds to augment our 2010 football campaign. We seek your assistance. lt is the support we receive from community members like you that afford our program's continued success. Please remember that your contributions are tax deductible. Keep in mind that no gift is too small. The support your organization provides will ultimately maintain the quality of our program.
