When we first began to think about putting together an online magazine, we knew the only person who could seamlessly bring together the most talented vendors to beautifully create our inspiration shoots was Christine Zohrabians of Fancy That! Events ! With a design esthetic that revolves around the three key words of “Timeless. Sophisticated. Chic, “ we knew Christine’s attention to detail and straight-forward personality would be a great source of advice for couples starting out their wedding journey! Here’s our fun Q&A session with Fancy That! Events !

What do you love most about being a planner?

I love my job because it is such an amazing feeling being the person put in charge and trusted to bring a couples vision to life on the most important days of their lives! I love that I get to meet couples at the beginning of their relationship as husband and wife and get excited to keep in touch and witness them grow into parents and truly start their lives together.

What’s a common wedding planner stereotype?

I get so upset when people think that hiring a wedding planner will actually take your wedding costs higher because planners take commissions from vendors! This is such a pet peeve of mine and I feel like any planner taking commissions from vendors behind a client’s back is completely unethical. Brides need to understand that hiring a planner is only to their advantage and will result in vendors going above and beyond for their event.

How long do you think you need to plan a wedding?

I truly think the ideal amount of time is 6-8 months, but of course we can plan in 6-8 days if needed :)

Your favorite memory from a wedding you coordinated?

Although I don’t like to admit I get star struck, my favorite memory has to be having to personally escort Kanye West from his car to a wedding ceremony I was planning and he was attending. That was quite the elevator ride! I should also mention John Mayer played a 30-minute set with the band at the same wedding!

What has been your most memorable wedding so far?

Another memorable wedding was one we planned at the Bellagio in Las Vegas in just two months. It was spectacular!

A dozen showgirls, a 40-piece orchestra with members from the Las Vegas Symphony and endless design details!

Which trends do you love?

I love anything that makes a wedding unique to the couple.

A special surprise groom’s cake, an unexpected midnight snack, a donation made to a charity close to your heart in lieu of favors.

Which trends can you live without?

I’m over the DIY bride! Although I think it’s great to put some of your own special touches to your wedding day I think the DIY trend needs to fade away. I can also live without burlap and mason jars :)

What part of a wedding is your favorite?

My favorite part of a wedding is when the bride and groom come in to the ballroom for the first time. I always make sure to sneak them in when the room is empty and sparkling / before the chaos begins.... It’s such a magical moment to see it all come to life!

What are some of your favorite wedding details?

Again, I’m key on making a wedding unique and special.

Although there are tons of design details you can put into a wedding to make it special, I love details that are meaningful. A heartfelt speech from a groom to his wife in front of hundreds of their family and friends is a detail worth remembering :) What’s your favorite flower?

I love Philinopsis Orchids and Garden Roses.

Your favorite color?

Gold! I’m big on gold accessories on a wedding day!

Your favorite wedding dress designer?

It’s a tough call between Vera Wang and Monique Luillier.

What’s your favorite wedding related movie?

That’s easy! Father of the Bride!!!!!

If you could give your top 5 tips to brides for their wedding, what would they be?

1. Never book vendors off google searches! Always work hard to create a reliable group of professionals you can trust!

2. Make sure to do a complete hair & makeup trial, it’s so important to feel gorgeous on your big day!

3. Do not let your groom rent a tux. He should look as well tailored as you do. :)

4. Match all your stationary. From save the dates to invites, place cards and table numbers everything should tie together.

5. Hire a wedding planner!

What is the most important thing you’ve learned from being an Event Coordinator?

That things will go “wrong” or “change” on the day of and it’s important as a bride and groom to remember that it’s not worth stressing out even for a minute. You have to go into the day trusting that the vendors you have hired to make your day happen are doing everything to the best of their ability to make your day as perfect as can be. Let it go, move on and enjoy your day. You will never get that minute back at this once in a lifetime occasion!

Finding The Perfect Dress with When thinking of gorgeous gowns set in a luxurious and intimate setting, the first thought that comes to mind is Lovella Bridal! With a wide range of designer gowns, as well as the experience that comes with dealing with customers of different tastes and esthetics, we knew they were the perfect go-to for some quick advice for brides-to-be seeking the perfect gown. Here are some of their tips about the basics of starting your search, the latest trends and advice from some of their exclusive designers!

Q: How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?

A: We would recommend that 6 to 9 months prior to your wedding is the ideal time to purchase your bridal gown. This gives you plenty of time to choose the look and feel of your gown and helps you set the overall style of your wedding. In the event, that you need to work to a tighter timeframe we will do all that we can to accommodate you. Lovella Bridal has options for rush orders or you may also be able to purchase a sample gown.

Q: What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Q: Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?

A: Our stylists at Lovella Bridal want to provide you with the personal attention and expertise that you deserve to help select your dream-wedding gown.

In order to ensure an hour of our undivided attention to you appointments are required.

Q: Do you have the designer wedding gown that I am looking for?

A: Most likely we do because we shop the world for you; however if you have a specific designer and/or style in mind our expert stylists can better assist you and help you fulfill your vision.

A: Pictures of gowns in magazines or online that best describe your vision and style that most interests you.

We also encourage our brides to be open to try on styles recommended by Lovella stylists. Over the years we’ve developed an eye for what works. You may be pleasantly surprised if you do!

Q: Can I bring family and friends to my appointment?

A: Bringing along family members and/or friends who are near and dear to your heart often enhance the intimate nature of selecting your dream gown.

However, please be mindful that this may also present a challenge if your entourage does not share your vision.

The B The Bride The bride was effortlessly chic with a tousled side bun by hairstylist Antonio Rivera. Natural and romantic make-up by Talin complemented the blush pink Ines Di Santo gown from Lovella Bridal. Pink tulle peeking from under the dress with fabric floral details provided the perfect theme to match the accessories and dĂŠcor of the room.

The Bouquet The stunning bridal bouquet was filled with roses, orchids, peonies and ranunculus. The combination of creams, whites and touches of pink and green harmonized with the pastel color scheme.

The Flower Girl The flower girl was sweet and elegant with an off-white dress with tulle detail by Lovella Bridal. A custom Creative Touch flower girl basket featuring one-of-a-kind vintage lace detail, cream tulle, silk flowers and Swarovski crystals were made to match the light and feminine feel of the setting.

The Ambiance With a dynamic and distinctively rich color scheme resembling the tones of precious gem stones, Inna from Butterfly Floral and Event Design translated the dramatic color scheme through an exotic combination of vibrant flowers ranging from rich roses to dazzling orchids. Deep purple ostrich feathers and glowing candles topped off the eye-catching centerpiece. A royal purple base featuring a dramatic damask design provided the perfect vessel for the floral designs.

Custom Creative Touch Swarovski crystal and silk candles were decadently created to add to the drama of the set. Using rich tones of blue and indigo and creating custom Swarovski crystal creations to resemble antique sapphire and diamond jewelry, the combination of the flowers and candles picked up the various shimmering colors of the rich linens created by White Night Design.

Various smaller floral arrangements filled with deep red magic roses were placed around the table to complement the large centerpiece. Dazzling Swarovski crystal frames created by Creative Touch added an extra stylish and distinctive sparkle across the table.

Bouquet A dramatic setting needs an equally dramatic bouquet! Calla lilies, roses, orchid’s and more combined together in a rich palette of purple hues created a stunning cascading bouquet. Wrapped in satin using deep purple pins, the stems of the bouquet were left natural by floral designer Inna of Butterfly Floral and Event Design to create a similarly striking look from the back of the bouquet.

Accessories A Lavish custom Swarovski crystal guestbook created by Creative Touch displayed a dazzling piece for the guestbook table. Wrapped in tulle and tied with the most exquisite ribbons, the Creative Touch custom ring pillow was topped off by a large and decadent Swarovski crystal creation.

Cake The beautiful custom cake created by Raffi’s Pastry featured circular layers of different sizes adorned with lace and floral designs. The light blue color palette was a perfect base for the vibrant roses that were placed by Butterfly Florals.

Each blooming rose featured a custom Creative Touch Swarovski crystal brooch, tying in the custom jeweled theme of the candles and accessories present throughout the set.
