A huge amount of regeneration is taking place under the banner of Northampton Alive and more is planned. Work includes the remodelling of Northampton Castle Railway Station, creation of the new North Gate Bus Station and a raft of commercial developments.

The University of Northampton Innovation Centre will provide cutting-edge accommodation and support services for 55 small businesses. 00

Northampton Saints Rugby Club will boost ground capacity to 15,500 with a new North Stand after Northampton Borough Council agreed a £5m loan for the project. This will enable the club to host international matches, putting it in the global spotlight and boosting the local economy.

The new North Gate Bus Station, a joint project between Northampton Borough Council and Northamptonshire County Council, has created a brighter welcome for visitors with modern facilities throughout, bringing shoppers to the heart of the town centre.

Grosvenor/Greyfriars
Legal & General is carrying out a £3m facelift of the Grosvenor Centre, scheduled for completion at the end of 2014, improving it’s appeal for shoppers. The old Greyfriars bus station is being demolished ready for further retail development and associated uses.
Market Square
Our revamp of Market Square has created a new focal point for Northampton, with cutting-edge lighting, a fountain and an events and performance space.

There are long-term proposals to develop Marefair as a historic gateway to the town centre, celebrating the town’s rich heritage, including it’s castle and St Peter’s Church which both have great ZPNUPÄJHUJL

Town centre redevelopment
More free parking, free Wi-Fi access and environmental improvements are just some of the measures we have agreed as part of a strategy to help revitalise Northampton town centre. Delapre Abbey
Restoration of this 900 year-old historical site has been made possible by funding from Northampton Borough Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage. It is the council’s top heritage priority and will provide a visitor centre, tours and exhibitions, plus space for functions such as conferences and weddings.
