Provided I can reread the most difficult parts and occasionally use a dictionary... I can understand personal letters in which emotions are conveyed, the relevance of events or experiences is highlighted, news is discussed and opinions expressed. I can understand formal, commercial, institutional or professional correspondence within my field of specialisation, in some detail. I can rapidly grasp the content and significance of news, articles and reports on topics of professional or personal interest, and decide whether a more careful reading is worthwhile. I can understand specialised texts within my field of interest. I can find relevant information in manuals or instructions booklets (for example, about a computer programme) and understand adequate explanations as well as find appropriate help lines when required. I can understand opinion and feature articles.
