Carrie Carson, CPA, CA, Chair of the Board, CPA Saskatchewan This has been a year unlike any other. As another summer comes to an end, we embrace the fall and all its changes. One of these changes was my role as Chair of the CPA Saskatchewan Board, which started this September. I want to once again thank our Board members for extending their terms until September to allow for continuity and support of decisions made during the summer months as we navigated through this unprecedented pandemic. I also want to welcome all the new CPA Saskatchewan Board members who were successful in this year’s election. We had several vacancies to fill this year and I was delighted to see that once again there was more interest than vacancies. Welcome to the Board!
Adynea Russell, FCPA, FCA, Scott Verity, FCPA, FCA and Val Watson, FCPA, FCA. I look forward to “meeting” many of you at one of our events this fall (although they may look a little different than our traditional events) as we celebrate together what it means to be a CPA. Even though this summer was different than any other summer in my professional career, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic the profession has continued to move forward. The Board met throughout the summer and into the fall as we continue to improve the current Collaboration Accord and work through our strategic plan. Former Chair Diana Leray, CPA, CA, CEO Shelley Thiel, FCPA, FCA, and I also met with our counterparts from across the country to connect and discuss relevant issues surrounding the future of the profession. These meetings are always productive and provide the provinces with an opportunity to share best practices and work together to improve the profession nationally. This fall, we are celebrating excellence in what our members are doing for the profession. CPA Saskatchewan is continuing to enhance the relevance and value of the CPA profession within the province and within the country. I want to personally congratulate Shelley Brown, FCPA, FCA once again on being the first ever CPA Saskatchewan member to be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. I also want to congratulate Saskatchewan’s newest FCPAs –
