Lindale & Team Holsteins Complete Dispersal

Greetings and welcome to a Celebration of Lindale and Team Holsteins! As we consider the past 42 years, Dale and I truly believe that we have much to celebrate. When we began our herd with the Lindale prefix in 1974, we continued our love and dedication to the Holstein cow that began with Junior Holstein activities. The friends we have made, the satisfaction of work well done, and the awards we have garnered have all made the years pass quickly with much to celebrate. And of course, there are many to thank! We begin with our parents, George and Marcella Drendel and JoAnne Matlock whose love and support have made these 42 years possible. We have animals selling whose pedigrees go back to their herds that can be seen in the Drendel and Gemhome prefixes. Dale’s brother, Mark, will sell Drendel-PM animals that are offspring of his family’s 4-H and Jr. Holstein project animals. Our brothers and sisters have frequently traveled to the farm in order to help us out with this project or that! For Dale and I, our greatest blessing and reason to celebrate is our children and their families. All three of our children have shown their love and enthusiasm for the Holstein cow in their 4-H, FFA, and Jr. Holstein work. Our oldest daughter Carrie and her husband Ryan Corson, have a ten-year-old, Olivia, who loves the farm cats, our dog, and the animals. She has shown a calf each year since age two and several of her show offspring are in the sale. Our son Jeff has farmed with us since his graduation from Farm & Industry Short Course at Madison, WI, in 1998. His partnership with Kevin Kriegel as Team Holsteins began in 2004 when they purchased Molly, the dam of Team Durham Morgan (3E-95). The Morgan family has truly contributed to the prominence of the herd and has given us all much to celebrate. Our youngest daughter Julie and her husband J.W. Ashton have a two-year-old son, Jacob, with a second son due in late October. Julie’s enthusiasm for the Holstein cow and our farm has not diminished throughout the years. Her love is at work whether at her home on her computer or on the farm helping her dad. Jacob follows in his cousin’s footsteps, often literally, as he gathers up the cats, pets our dog, or drags the calf feed bucket down the barn drive. Oh, what great times to celebrate! Amidst the celebration, there is the day to day work back home on the farm that has been a joint effort since the beginning. We can’t begin to acknowledge everyone who has worked with us, but we do sincerely thank them! Since 2005 we have had a steady crew anchored by Jeff, Kevin, and Randy Wesemann. Jimmy and Robert, working on the farm as part of their high school Vo-Ag program, round out the work force. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We also say thank you to several Holstein breeders who have entrusted their cows’ care to us. As part of our herd dispersal, they offer you the opportunity to make their very fine animals a part of your herd. How does one say good-bye? With tears of sadness, tears of joy, and hearts full of gratitude for a life on the farm with good cattle and great friends and family! Today, we truly celebrate our life as Lindale and Team Holsteins and wish you the best as our past becomes your future.
