Fall KCA Interns
intern 1 Hanna Caudill of Garrard County, Kentucky has been selected as the 2020 Fall Intern for Kentucky C a t t l e m e n ’ s Association. Hanna grew up spending most of her time at her grandparents farm in Nicholasville, Kentucky where they raised cattle, hay and tobacco. She was an active member of her chapters FFA throughout middle school and high school which only made her passion for agriculture grow. In high school she also worked for her local Tractor Supply and Southern States where she learned very valuable information not only from her managers and products held in the stores but from the men and women who shopped there. right for her to further her education in agriculture by attending Eastern Kentucky University. Hanna is now a senior at Eastern Kentucky University where she is majoring in Animal Science along with getting two minors, one in Livestock Management and the other in Agriculture Business. While at Eastern Kentucky University Hanna has thrived. She serves as a Agriculture Ambassador for the department, assisted in a Hybrid Vigor Study conducted at EKU’s Meadowbrook Farm, was selected to compete in the 2020 Animal Science Quadrathlon and now serves as the President of the Agriculture Club. Hanna is excited to be a part of an association that is heavily involved with the livestock industry and the people who inhabit it. She wishes to obtain and take away a lot of useful knowledge of the industry as well as be an advocate for the agriculture fieldwhilesheis here.
Faith Hughes of Winchester, Kentucky has been selected for the 2020 Fall M e m b e r s h i p intern for the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association. Faith is the daughter of Holly and Kevin Hughes from KH Farms also in Winchester, KY. Beef production has always ben a big influence in Faith’s life growing up on a beef cattle farm along with her older brother. She was a competitive clogger, an active member in FFA, and a founding member of the Clark County Junior Cattlemen’s serving multiple leadership roles throughout her years of service. Faith’s involvement in FFA and KJCA and love for the agriculture industry are what led her to attend the University of Kentucky to major in Agricultural Education and focus in animal sciences.

As she enters her senior year Faith has remained an active member in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment by being a part in the Block and Bridle and Agricultural Education Society clubs. During her time at UK, Faith has had the opportunities to be a part of countless FFA events and contests, worked for the 2019 National FFA Convention with the CDE/LDE team, and has served as a guest hostess of the RFD-TV show FFA Today with her colleges. Faith is excited to stay involved in the agriculture industry and to continue to grow her knowledge in the beef industry by assisting the Kentucky Cattlemen’s and learn how to best educate consumers. After graduation, Faith plans to enter the public school setting where she would like to be a high school agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor, as well as follow in her family’s footsteps and build a beef production farm of her own.
